Lots of firsts this weekend 🔥🔥🔥

1️⃣ First time for Pernilla and Lars trying the @kissrebreathers Sidewinder 2 with @yvonnepress at @darkhorizondiving

1️⃣ First time for Yvonne setting the SW2 up on a Razor with different harnesses - some lessons were learned 😜

And a 2️⃣ - Lars and Pernilla had tried the rEvo before with @sarabanderby so it was really cool to dive a little more into the differences between those two awesome units as we were preparing for our time underwater.

Thanks to the team at @gozo.technical.diving for supporting us this weekend 🙏

Drifting with the current, and right in the middle of the action. CCR diving really allows you to get so much closer to the marine life.

FINALLY, I hear you say. A marine biology post!
This predator lives in the Baltic Sea and if it wasn’t so small, it would be pretty freaky.

In Iceland, below the surface, Fragile Hope founder Joakim Odelberg witnessed something rare.

The same diver.
The same Atlantic wolffish.

A bond built over nine years.

Atlantic wolffish are powerful bottom-living fish, shaped by cold water, rocky habitats and a life close to the seabed.

They are also remarkable fathers.

After spawning, the eggs are laid on the seabed in a dense mass. The male guards them for months, sometimes up to nine months, often with little or no feeding.

The more time we spend below the surface, the more our assumptions fall apart.

This is not just a fish with an unusual appearance.

It is a life with behaviour, patience and presence we rarely get close enough to see.

Look closer.
Look differently.

Fragile Hope is new here.

If this matters to you, follow along and share it with someone who should see it.

Beneath the waters of the Cyclades rests a forgotten chapter of World War II history.

The wreck of a British Bristol Beaufighter, lost during operations over the Aegean in 1943, now lies quietly on the seabed between Paros and Naxos, preserved by crystal clear water and time itself.

Part dive site, part time capsule, it remains one of the region’s most fascinating underwater experiences and a rare opportunity to encounter history where it happened, beneath the surface of the Aegean.

Credit & Respect to Sara Banderby for capturing and sharing these remarkable moments from below the surface.

If you’re looking to take your first breaths underwater, continue your training, or discover the incredible dive sites of the Cyclades, book your next underwater adventure with Paros Divers at Golden Beach on Paros Island.

Episode 41 is LIVE!

Some people dive to explore. Some dive to document.

AlexDawson does both.

In this latest episode of Shaff Dives You Crazy, I sit down with one of the diving world's most respected underwater photographers to talk about the stories behind the images that have inspired divers across the globe.

From his background as a military diver to photographing centuries-old Baltic Sea wrecks, flooded mines, and technical dives in some of the harshest underwater environments, Alex shares what really goes into creating those unforgettable images and the mindset needed to do it safely.

We also discuss fear, exploration, underwater photography, teamwork, technical diving, and why sometimes the best image isn't the perfect one, it's the one that tells a story.
