OPEN CALL: FRICTION

The third chapter of STATES OF CHANGE is here.

FRICTION explores the tension that comes with change: the resistance, conflict and opposing forces that emerge when things no longer move in the same direction.

Friction can exist between people, ideas, identities, expectations or even within ourselves. It can create discomfort and conflict, but also movement, transformation and something entirely new.

We’re inviting artists to explore FRICTION through their own perspectives and artistic practices.

All artistic interpretations of the theme are welcome!

📅 Open call until 19 October 2026
🖼️ Exhibition on view throughout November 2026
📍 Scope Gallery @ Maria 01, Helsinki
🎨 Group exhibition | STATES OF CHANGE, Part 3

Apply through the link in our bio!

We look forward to seeing your interpretations of FRICTION.

What a day!🧡🦋

The 8th edition of Tervasaari Jams is now behind us, and we couldn't be more grateful.

To every artist, volunteer, crew member, partner, and every single person who came to Tervasaari: thank you! You are the reason this event exists. 🧡

This year, the weather challenged us more than ever. Until the very last moment, we genuinely didn't know whether the event could happen at all. But instead of giving up, we chose to believe in our community and together, we made it happen trough the rain!

Through rain and shine Tervasaari Jams has become something much bigger than another outdoors concert. It is a tradition, a meeting place, and a celebration of Helsinki's independent creative community. Thank you for making Tervasaari Jams what it is.🧡

We'll carry these memories with us for a long time!

See you again next summer!🧡

Pelkkää Hyvää Experience on nimenomaan elämys, jota et halua missata. Joulukuussa 2025 esikois-EP:n julkaissut yhtye tuo lavoille tinkimätöntä energiaa, huippuun hiottua musikaalisuutta ja yhteiskunnallista sanomaa. Elämys sisältää tarinoita keulahahmo Messy Micc:in nuoruudesta itä-Vantaan perukoilta, merkittäviä kannanottoja, ja muuten vaan sairaan hyvää meininkiä suomiräpin ja big band -tradition siivittämänä.

———

Pelkkää Hyvää Experience is indeed a thrill you do not want to miss. They released their first EP in December 2025, bringing in uncompromising energy, musicality polished to perfection and important societal messages to the stage. The experience includes stories of the leading figure’s Messy Micc’s youth located deep in East-Vantaa, significant statements, and otherwise really good vibes provided to you by suomi-rap and big band-tradition.
