Custom: Shelving Unit
Inspiration: Otato Storage

Many features reference the Otato range, including minimally bent panels, pill shaped cutouts, and the ability to rotate the shef from flat to tray (via disassembly). This shelf version features the slim uprights with leveling feet, and custom cnc saddle washers to give the illusion that the shelf and uprights aren't connecting.

A massive thank-you Cam for your letting me add to your Otato range, I love how these turned out.

Amidst the frantic, high-decibel pace of today’s industrial design industry,⁠ @sedni.studio operates with a sense of slowness. The studio’s name itself,⁠ Sedni, is the Macedonian direction ‘to sit’, a linguistic nudge that speaks⁠ to furniture’s domestic ritual. Established in 2022 by Daniel Stavridis, the guiding principle behind Sedni Studio is to do just that: slow down and sit.⁠

Stavridis describes his practice as moving between ‘noisy’ and ‘quiet’ points.⁠

He pays as much attention to the atmosphere of a room as he does to the lines he draws within it. His portfolio sits somewhere between an instructional manual and a study of form, proportion, rhythm and spatial sequencing.⁠

MDW here we go 🔥🔥

Only 1 week away until Off-Menu (@___offmenu) starts, I'm so incredibly grateful to the designers who will be in this show, with a massive thank-you going to them and to Noise Complaint (@noisecomplaint_au) for hosting this show. Running from 14-19 May, Off-Menu asks 18 creatives to exhibit x2 items from their practice; x1 item they're known for, x1 item they want more exposure for.

The 2026 program features 400+ events over 11 days running from 14-24 May, platforming upcoming and established designers through a series of exhibitions, talks, tours, walks, and a whole bunch of other experiences, offering an opportunity to engage with the Australian design community. I'm incredibly grateful to be involved in this year's offering and can't wait to see as many shows as possible while MDW 2026 is running.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love magazines, so to see Sedni Studio in print is absolutely huge for me. I've been following Union @union.magazine for a few years now, I've always admired their pursuit to search far and wide for inspiring design stories. This search isn't just driven by location, but also to design practices, by platforming both upcoming and established designers and studios.

My Universe feature is my first magazine write up, it touches on what my studio means, design inspiration, my product line-up, future projects, and Off-Menu @___offmenu, my first MDW exhibition that I'll be hosting, featuring the works of 18 incredible designers.

A huge amount of gratitude goes Rachel @rachel___bw and Oliver @frank__graphic for making this all possible, Aliecia @alieciacindy for the kind and detailed write up, and a forever thank-you to Sully @lazyfairr for the amazing photos.

Sedni Studio @sedni.studio

Sedni Studio is an industrial design studio founded by Daniel Stavridis in 2022, focusing on furniture design for residential and commercial environments. The word “sedni” means “to sit” in Macedonian. It is the personification of Stavridis’ heritage, cultural identity, and love of design.

Inspiration comes from Stavridis’ travels and the world around him, drawing upon design cues from fashion, cinema, graphic design & music, with each of these sources having their loud and soft points to them, which are related back through his designs by symmetry, movement & repetition. A focus on user engagement, and how material choices can raise experiences & expectations, is what Stavridis pursues in his body of work.

Off-Menu 2026 asks 18 creatives to exhibit X2 items from their practice.

X1 item they would like more exposure for.

Hosted by Sedni Studio (@sedni.studio), this exhibition intends to showcase the creative range and practical depth from these practices, offering a space to display new items, alternative materials & finishes, and expanded ranges, alongside their more established and well-known work. Seating, lighting, spatial design, storage, ceramics, print publications, jewellery, graphic design; these and other disciplines will be highlighted in the exhibition.

2025 went by like a flash, I'm so proud of where Sedni Studio has gone this year, it's always wild doing reviews like this, when you're in the thick of it you forget how much you've actually done.

A huge thank-you goes out to everyone I've worked with, my super skilled fabricators, and everyone who captured my work; I'm so grateful to you all!

I have big plans for 2026 and can't wait to share them with you, but until then I hope you all have a great summer break!

At launch, Rafi is available as a dining or side table, with a finish choice of powder coat or brushed aluminium with clear satin powder coat, that can be applied individually to each upright, side panel, base plate and tabletop, creating very unique and personalised pieces. You can also choose your tabletop shape to be a squircle, circle or octagon, regardless of base size.
