Most people get lash extensions and continue applying their makeup exactly the same way they always have. But once you have a full set, a few small adjustments can make a big difference.

As a makeup artist, my goal is to make the extensions complement the entire face instead of overpowering it. That means keeping the eyeliner minimal, softening the lower lash line and using simple, well blended eyeshadow.

You should also avoid applying strip lashes over extensions. The glue can attach to them and pull out both the extensions and your natural lashes during removal.

It’s not about wearing less makeup. It’s about applying it in a way that keeps the finished look soft, polished and balanced. ✨

26 years in this industry and there are some things no makeup course can really teach you.

This client was actually one of my former brides, and having her back in my chair reminded me of that. 🤍

After thousands of faces, hairstyles, weddings, early mornings and very long days, here’s what I know now:

1. Skin prep can make or break the entire makeup.
2. The most expensive product isn’t always the best product.
3. Technique will take you further than a massive kit ever will.
4. Hair prep matters just as much as the final styling.
5. Not every trend belongs on every face.
6. Knowing when to stop is a skill. More makeup doesn’t always mean better makeup.
7. What looks beautiful in person also has to make sense on camera.
8. Listening to your client is just as important as knowing your craft.
9. Your client may forget what foundation you used, but she will remember how she felt sitting in your chair.
10. And longevity in this industry isn’t about chasing every trend. It’s about evolving without losing your eye.

And maybe one of my favourite lessons of all…

11. The biggest compliment isn’t a like, a follow or a viral reel. It’s when a client comes back years later and chooses you again.

26 years later, I’m still learning. And I think that’s probably why I still love what I do.
