September.

September has always been the month of the future for me. After a break, I can look back at what has happened with a little more distance: understand what went well, where I went wrong, put things back in order and try to do better.

I’m growing alongside my studio, and my studio is growing with me. New people, new clients, new ways of working. New languages and new trends to understand and sometimes embrace, without feeling the need to chase everything that comes along.

I find myself doing far more than I ever imagined when I decided to become a photographer. Some of it I enjoy, some of it decidedly less so. Over the years, I’ve learned above all to find solutions when something gets complicated, even when projects take a different direction from the one I had imagined, and to see them through.

I think of myself as a craftsperson rather than an artist. At least for now. I work with people, with their ideas and their needs. My job is to listen to them, interpret them and translate them through my own way of seeing.

This September, this is where I’m starting again: figuring out how to let the studio grow without taking space away from photography. taken in Via Cairoli Roma by @serenaeller

After being forgotten for over fifty years, Villa Finocchiaro — a house with a striking sculptural character, suspended between organicism and Space Age imagery, designed in 1973 by Giuseppe Fanfoni and Maurizio Lo Castro in Linguaglossa (Catania) on the slopes of Etna — has now been restored, at the behest of its new owner, in faithful adherence to the original design.
The villa defies easy definition: its organic volumes seem to embrace the site’s topography while simultaneously emerging powerfully from the landscape, aided by their distinctive color. They evoke a primitive dwelling — almost a maternal womb — yet also bear a striking resemblance to the futuristic experiments of that era, which inspired architects (particularly French and American ones) to dream of living in a “bubble” . The structure incorporates vegetation via iron supports for climbing plants while simultaneously showcasing innovative construction technologies.

Villa Altrocanto, Itieli (Umbria), 2022

Nestled in the hills of Umbria amidst lush Mediterranean greenery, this infinity pool opens onto an endless horizon. Its design honors the fluid forms of the framing branches, capturing their dance on the water’s surface. Bordering the pool, the handcrafted terracotta edge hosts the ‘Questo and Quello’ tables - a bespoke pieces designed by Terraestudio.

Powder pink kitchen. Carmine red bedroom. Brass-profiled terrazzo across 230 sqm of a 1930s rationalist apartment in Rome's Monteverde Vecchio. Punto Zero didn't use color as decoration — they used it as a spatial argument, room by room.

Casa Continua by STUDIOTAMAT is a masterclass in chromatic and material harmony. Set in Rome’s elegant Flaminio district, this 115-square-meter renovation replaces rigid partitions with a "social engine" wrapped in burgundy glazed metal and reeded glass. The tactile experience is defined by a sophisticated dialogue between the hard surfaces of custom geometric terrazzo and the plush softness of velvet upholstery in ochre and green.

Bespoke oak joinery seamlessly integrates the building's structural skeleton, creating intimate reading nooks and library walls that house thousands of volumes. From the subtle burgundy trim lines that trace the perimeter to the soft light filtering through textured glass, every detail reinforces a sense of tailored fluidity.

A jednak!
