Our family has enjoyed watching the Olympics 🏆 the last 2 weeks. Even more so for the track & field events @adidasrunning ! Riyell & Rayden (2 on the left) shot this REALLY cool commercial in March with Olympic Medalist Noah Lyles and I love the final project! My boys ran all day long haha and were exhausted after the shoot, but had a wonderful experience with the Olympian @nojo18 @profpretty as always, thank you for another incredible job! Its close to impossible to heal from what you don’t face. Avoidance keeps you further away from healing ❤️‍🩹 Trust me … I know One of the first steps of grief is acknowledging your pain and then facing it. Sounds crazy right? Who wants to face pain … NO ONE‼️But that Undealt-with-pain will grow like a cancer and cause even more destruction in ways you never imagined. You don’t have to face it alone. I didn’t. I cried in safe spaces &places with people I loved, some I didn’t know and opened my heart to allow the Father to ultimately comfort and heal my fragile broken heart. I simply became a Grief Counselor to help my children after my mom died suddenly. I was determined to find the best way to show up for them in all of our grief. I was struggling and grieving yet wanted to make sure I could support them. I had no reference point, no language or tools and felt helpless watching them grieve. So much of my life’s work is because of my children’s grief. I’ve have been able to help countless children, families and adults since then and I’m grateful. 7 years later here I am full circle, helping grieving children at Experience Camps. I spent a week at Experience Camps @experiencecamps PennEx working as a Grief Specialist and what a meaningful week it was. ❤️ For seven days, I had the opportunity to work alongside an incredible clinical team and meet some truly wonderful kiddos who, alongside their grief, still showed up to play, laugh, dance, cry, connect, and simply be kids. There were endless moments where grief and play existed in the same space. And that matters. Children need to know that grief doesn’t mean they have to stop experiencing joy. They can miss someone deeply and still laugh. They can cry and then go play. They can carry sadness and still experience connection, love, belonging, and hope. Sometimes supporting a grieving child isn’t about finding the perfect words or trying to make their grief disappear. It’s about creating spaces where they feel seen, safe, validated, supported, and free to grieve in their own way. Children grieve, too. Today’s my mom’s 70th Heavenly Birthday ✨🕊️ I would have loved to have thrown her a surprise party today! So instead .. I’ll imagine what her day would have been like 🎂 I would have had a party with her close family & friends and everyone would wear her favorite colors Lavender, White & Gold I’d play her Fav gospel tunes & a little Earth Wind & Fire because she secretly loved dancing to good music I’d serve all her favorite foods like my husband’s lasagna, peach cobbler, and pecan ice cream! All of my sons would read a birthday tribute outloud to her because she adored her grandsons and they adored their “Nan-Nan” I’d hug her, kiss her and shower her with endless love like there’s no tomorrow (and I’m sure she’d be so annoyed lol!) I’d tell her how much she means me to me and that life would never be the same without her ✨ August 13th is just not the same without her, but I love that I can make room in my mind & heart to still celebrate her life because it’s worthy of honoring & forever remembering. The way we enjoyed our first small group @believechurchla ❤️‍🔥 called “6 Great Dates” ! We spent 6 weeks with some wonderful people who have become family as we had 6 Great Dates together. Couples date night outings with food, fun, meaningful connection & a study in the Word applicable for each of our marriages. I mean we danced, we sang, we ate, we painted, we shared our hearts, we watched the sunset.. we found community and it was just what Randall & I needed at just the right time ❤️‍🔥 My heart is full and I can’t wait for more ways to grow, learn & connect at our next round of small groups! And HUGE shoutout to the 6 Dates Small group leaders who did a pheeeennominal job crafting each date together to be something special !! {Lauren Hills Candlelight concert tribute was ✨- just a 4 piece, and the audience singing every lyric to every song while our group of course sang 3 part harmony the whole time 😆 ! } #grateful #believela #community #cali marrigevibes by @serenaj_1

Monday was a vibe 👌🏽🌟 I had TWO firsts here in LA Been living in LA for 3 months and God has done so much good in our hearts and lives and I’m beyond grateful. I had my first night “OUTSIDE” in LA and had a blast thanks to my friend & sis showing me the streets lol @pcuffiejones . We celebrated Royal & Riyell’s high school graduation 🎓🎓 this weekend!! These boys are high school GRADS 🏁🏁!! My heart is beyond full as I’ve homeschooled them across the finish line for the last 10 years !! ▪️Royal @1roydiadem I love you and immensely proud of your tenacity and creativity. Our homeschool journey made room for you to discover your passion & craft for building almost anything with your hands! Thank you for building almost every dresser, desk and stand in our house (and my fav hammock!) I can’t wait to see all that you create AND master because of your talents! ▪️Riyell @certified_riy you skipped a whole grade your first few weeks of homeschooling~ you were born a little baby genius.
