a re-introduction & a departure 👋🏽

i used to feel so connected and nourished on instagram but these days it leaves me feeling drained and dysregulated more often than not

let this be your reminder that you have the power to live life how you please - whether that's getting TF off this app, breaking up with urgency culture or identities that no longer fit, following the passion that makes you feel alive or honoring the intuitive nudge that's stayed consistent since 2021

you can find me out in the woods with the trees, putting my hands in the sand, jumping in the pacific, in your inbox through the newsletter or your ears through the podcast

as of now, im planning on keeping the link in bio up to date for events & offerings too

see you off the grid ❤️‍🔥👋🏽🌈 by @shancury

spending one hour a day on social media equates to more than one year of your life spent scrolling. and i just learned that 50% of content on the internet is now AI-generated, with the number expected to go up to 90% by 2027.

i wrote this list at the beginning of 2025 and have been taking periodic monthly digital detoxes ever since. the time off would bring me back to myself and then i would get back on and restart the cycle of disconnection and dysregulation. that model works for a lot of people, it just didn't for me.

is social media the root cause of my struggle? of course not. but it's the most consistent barrier to presence, depth, processing and living intentionally - the most powerful supports i know of within myself and my relationships.

life is so fcking magical when we're actually living it with each other. consider this your reminder that you can always re-orient your relationship to the people, places and things that disconnect you from living as your fullest self.

if you are curious about getting off social media, check the link in bio for the digital detoxes. they're a great reset or an ease out of this mess. by @shancury

this work can been so unbelievably life changing. of course i've experienced it first hand but i've also witnessed profound shifts - large & small - in the people who continue to show up for it too.

living from an embodied place is simple but it sure isn't easy in the world we live in. but it's a powerful path to aliveness, healing, & growth. and i believe it's how we show up for each other, build dynamic relationships and build a world that we don't need to numb out from.

the link in bio should have everything you need to book a session or learn more. signing up for the newsletter is always the best bet in the event i stop updating it once i'm off social media.

applying for a container isn't to make it exclusive, either. it's to ensure i feel confident in being able to show up for you in the ways you need. if i'm not, i always refer you to someone else. by @shancury

halloween at google in new york was a big deal, people went all out.

i personally had zero access to my creative energy to plan a costume nor did i even consider what day it was between snoozing my alarm and rushing out the door.

one year on 10/31 i happened to wear a turtle neck to work and someone asked if i was dressed as steve jobs.

anyways, he absolutely is not the inspiration for this photo.

i do this work for that version of me who needed to take 15-20 deep breaths and learn how to chill
TF out somewhere other than happy hour.

i know this isn't linkedin but i'd love to support your team with a workshop, series, coaching or keynote. plenty more stories where that one came from.

as always, link in bio to learn more. by @shancury

what they said.

but actually, it's an honor and a privilege to do this work. i have so much love all of the people i get the gift of supporting, in a totally boundaried and ethical way. witnessing their transformations and holding space for them to breathe life into their power is mutual medicine.

and also, everyone experiences it differently. to some, it's more impactful than therapy. to others, it's a deep restorative nap. only one way to find out how it feels for you.

thank you for trusting me. thank you for showing up for yourself. thank you for showing up for the collective through your healing. by @shancury

if you feel nourished and recharged after spending time on social media, i love that for you.

and if you don't, that makes sense too. you are not alone. it's engineered to drain us.

and it's so easy to feel like "everyone is on social media" and believe the stories that we "need" to be on here.

sure, some people might. but most of us don't.

taking intentional time away from the addictive patterns and doomscrolling is a game changer for your wellbeing. this program brings you back into your body and realigns you with your values.

your life is yours, live it how you please.

it's beautiful that the healing industry provides so many pathways for people to learn and share modalities that can change people's lives. academia and licensing isn't always accessible - financially energetically. there's nothing like burning out a practitioner before they start than my expecting them to work for free just to be validated in their profession.

and also, it's important to know who you're working with and what trainings they're taken. the unregulated nature of the industry leaves serious gaps in a lot of training programs - especially around ethics, boundaries and the energetic aspects of the work.

not to mention, all the credentials in the world don't matter if you're not embodying your own practices and alchemizing your lived experience.

it all matters and i will quite literally never stop learning and growing as a practitioner. by @shancury

once a month, we gather over zoom to drop into the breath and give our brains a break.

it's a low stakes space for folks who want space to ~just be~ amidst all the noise.

it's an ideal place to start if you're curious about breathwork and tends to be a haven for folks to come back to their practices and themselves.

camera on or off, share with the group or sit back & witness, and come and go as you please. recording shared after if you can't make it live.

check the link in bio to sign up for the next session or better yet, get the weekly slow down in your inbox to stay up to date now that we're off the grid. by @shancury

the luckiest in all the land that i get to celebrate raymond today and everyday, really.

you make the world a better place with your fierce love, bone-deep wisdom and authentic joy. getting to live life with you is such a fcking gift and there's no one else i'd want to be growing through the messiness and expansion of partnership with.

cheers to love and light summer and a year of belly laughs, ech snuggles, surprise date nights, weekend camping trips where you can pee in the woods, slow mornings with our retinas in the sun, big yards with high fences, early bedtimes and sleepy nights crushing bubbles. may 32 be the year of joy, community, health & love beyond your wildest dreams.

happy birthday to my favorite person, the master manifestor, the hagrid of my heart and the most powerful person i know ❤️‍🔥 taken in San Diego, California by @shancury

moved to san diego four years ago today. phew, what a ride.

when i got here, i remember feeling like i was going to college all over again. except this time, i knew who i was and what i wanted to learn.

if the last four years have taught me anything, it's that life is one big spiral and compassion is key.

my first few years out here, i built my life around healing. big love and light energy. i socialized in wellness spaces instead of bars and genuinely felt like i was mastering "the work." along the way, found a lot of my people too.

and then over the last two years, i've let that life hold me as spirit's reminded me that wherever you go, there you are. big dark and messy energy. i let those people get to know the parts of me i thought i left back on the east coast.

it's not a coincidence the timing of this shift lines up with this administration. ironically enough, roe v. wade was overturned the day i moved too. the personal and the collective are one in the same.

it's funny, i used to believe that transformation required becoming someone unrecognizable. a before and after story. a "shannon 2.0".

it turns out san diego shan is new york shan is ocean city shan is philly shan.

these days, transformation feels like laughing with my shadow, meeting them with more compassion and getting off the healing hamster wheel enough to let myself just be.

cheers to four years in one of the many places that i'm lucky enough to call home with some of my favorite stretches of land, humans and versions of myself i get to experience it with. taken in San Diego, California by @shancury

You won’t believe who crashed our ceremony.

The morning of the wedding, our dear friends Shannon and Ray came over to help us ground before the big day. Ray serenaded us with a sound bath and we laughed and cried and created space for whatever the day had in store.

I shared that I wished my dad would do something big to celebrate our wedding day (but he never liked being the center of attention so figured he would show up in smaller ways).

But boy did he deliverer. Thanks for the giggles and goats, Daddio. by @shancury

brain broke & heart melted introducing my favorite person to some of my other favorite humans. worlds colliding in the sweetest way.

getting to know her world & life before san diego was an honor and a privilege too, even with the gluten & dairy loading that is only worth it on the east coast. san diego, bland diego.

i don't know if it'll ever get easier to love so many people in so many places. trips home tend to come with the grief of what could've been. thank god the life & love in san diego remind me why it isn't. the smoothies & hot yoga are helping bring my body back to baseline too.

in the words of andrea gibson, where there is deep grief, there was deep love. how lucky am i that the love and the grief still get to coexist. taken in East Coast by @shancury
