What if a matcha café could hold two worlds at once
the quiet discipline of Japanese tea culture
and the everyday rhythm of a modern city?

I designed this space as a study in restraint.
Clean lines.
Natural materials.
Nothing ornamental without purpose.

The architecture was built in 3ds Max, explored and blocked in SketchUp,
and then slowly refined using AI not to decorate,
but to sharpen proportion, light, texture, and atmosphere.

Every surface, colour, and shadow was considered.
The green is muted, not loud.
The wood is warm, not rustic.
The space feels calm without feeling empty.

This concept was created for Amacha, a matcha brand based in Australia,
launching soon.
These visuals aren’t final marketing images
they’re part of the thinking, the shaping, the world-building that happens before a brand fully arrives.

I didn’t plan on releasing these yet.
But sometimes a space feels complete enough to share —
even before the doors open.

More coming soon.
For now, this is a glimpse into the process —
where architecture, ritual, and technology meet quietly. by @shubhkarwal

Some things aren’t designed to grab attention.
They’re designed to earn a place in your everyday.

A tin that sits quietly on the counter.
A pouch that travels with you from kitchen to café.
A cup that feels familiar before the first sip.

This is what we’re building —
objects that belong in real mornings.

Light pouring through the window.
Shadows moving slowly across the table.
A moment where nothing is rushed,
and the ritual matters as much as the drink.

From shelf to brew,
every detail is intentional.
The colour that calms.
The form that feels right in the hand.
The kind of design that doesn’t ask to be noticed —
but stays noticed.

Merchandising isn’t about more things.
It’s about better companions.

Coming soon.

Mornings don’t need to be louder.
They need to be kinder.

Somewhere along the way, we learned to start our days by jolting ourselves awake —
another cup, another rush, another push.
As if energy only comes from stimulation.

But not every morning asks for speed.
Some mornings ask for clarity.
Some ask for warmth.
Some ask for something that doesn’t spike, shake, or rush the system.

The right cup isn’t about how strong it is.
It’s about how it makes you feel after.

Does it ground you or scatter you?
Does it calm your breath or quicken it?
Does it help you arrive in your body —
or pull you straight into your head?

Starting fresh isn’t about doing more.
It’s about choosing better.

A cup that supports your rhythm.
A ritual that gives you space.
A moment that feels intentional, not automatic.

Because mornings set the tone —
and the right beginning doesn’t shout.
It listens.

Choose the cup that lets you start slowly,
clearly,
and fully present. by @shubhkarwal

I was paying attention to the face before anything else.
Not expression, not emotion — just presence.

The way light settles on skin when it’s not being chased.
How texture becomes visible only when you stop trying to smooth it out.
Freckles, shadows, softness — all the things that disappear when you overcorrect.

There wasn’t much direction.
Just small adjustments.
Turn slightly.
Hold that.
Don’t look for the camera.

Most of the work happened in waiting —
for the light to fall where it wanted to,
for the fabric to frame instead of hide,
for the moment to feel unforced.

I wasn’t trying to capture a person.
I was trying to stay out of the way of what was already there.

Later, in editing, the same rule applied.
Nothing added.
Nothing pushed.
Just shaping the image until it matched what I saw in my head before any of this existed.

This was always about restraint.
About trusting subtlety.
About letting the image breathe instead of asking it to speak louder.

That was the intention. by @shubhkarwal

I went to the mountains without a shot list.
No storyboard. No intention to make anything.

Somewhere along the way, I had a vision — not an image, just a feeling.
A sense of scale. Of stillness. Of how a person looks when the landscape is bigger than them, but they’re not trying to fight it.

These people weren’t cast.
They simply came into the frame.

I asked for very little.
Stand here.
Wait a second longer.
Let the wind do what it’s already doing.

The rest was about attention.
Watching how the light moved across the slope.
How it hit the face, then disappeared.
How contrast softened when the sun dipped behind the ridge.

I wasn’t chasing drama.
I was watching for balance — between control and chance, direction and surrender.

Most of what you see already existed.
I just adjusted a few things.
Shifted where the light should fall.
Let shadows stay where they felt honest.

Editing came later, and even then, I tried not to interfere too much.
Just enough to bring the image closer to what I felt before I ever picked up the camera.

This is less about the mountains, and more about how presence behaves when nothing is asking for attention.

That was the vision. by @shubhkarwal
