had a great time @caffecultureshow last week hosting the caffè insights panel on value in the coffee supply chain had fun hosting mostly bc i got to speak to people i admire about things i care about. could have & would have kept going if they hadn’t kicked us out of the building as the show closed.. Meet Siala Farani-Tomlin (@siala_______) — Head of Coffee at Elsewhere Coffee Roasters in London. ☕️ Originally from New Zealand, Siala has spent more than 15 years working in hospitality, beginning behind the bar before finding her way into roasting, sourcing, and green coffee buying. i had the best time with @finca_churupampa up in cajamarca. they’re a family run business and i really felt like part of it 🥹 visiting these guys was the initial impetus for this whole trip to perú. there were several versions of people coming/possible dates but in the end no one else could make it so it ended up being just me. properly put my limited spanish to the test (defs the longest i’ve not spoken english) but just suuuch an incredible experience! in this life you’ve just gotta say yes and get stuck in, often the best bits are where you’re least expecting them. gracias a eber, lenin, talhya, luberli, eswin, kenshy, gloria &&&& todo el equipo finca churupampa <3 can’t believe how much we squeezed in! super cool staying at the original farm in chirinos & seeing the development of the business into the association which now has a centralised office/mill/warehouse in jaén big things happening, undoubtedly bigger things to come also defs didn’t have sunset beers boating on a lagoon on the bingo card but i guess someone’s gotta do it! thanks @redbeetlecoffeelab & @elsewhere_coffee for making this happen taken in Cajamarca, Perú by @siala______
