Out tomorrow! Siala Farani-Tomlin (she/her) joins me on @fablecoffeestories to share her experiences in the coffee industry; from building confidence and people skills in her first coffee job in New Zealand to emceeing @coffee_masters_ at @londoncoffeefestival this year.

The Head of Coffee and Roastery Operations at @elsewhere_coffee in London, in this conversation Siala shares invaluable insights on the importance of maintaining your own identity outside of work, and how the discipline and resilience learned through hobbies can hugely benefit your mindset in the workplace, alongside her experiences on learning to negotiate, the often exhausting demands of having to be on social media to stay relevant and being an introvert in the coffee world.

Join us tomorrow, 12th October, for Siala’s episode! ✨

Meet Siala Farani-Tomlin (@siala_______) — Head of Coffee at Elsewhere Coffee Roasters in London. ☕️ Originally from New Zealand, Siala has spent more than 15 years working in hospitality, beginning behind the bar before finding her way into roasting, sourcing, and green coffee buying.

Today, she leads the coffee programme and roastery operations at Elsewhere Coffee, where her work centers on quality and sourcing. She has also become a regular visitor to coffee origins, meeting producers and learning more about the people and places behind the coffees she works with.

At WPCS 2026, Siala brings the perspective of someone working across the chain — connecting the realities of origin with the decisions made in consuming markets.

Establishing new sourcing roots in Inkawasi, deep in Peru’s Cusco region 🇵🇪

Super high elevations. Mammoth journeys into the mountains. And some seriously exceptional coffees at the end of them.

Would you ride seven hours in the back of a truck for a great cup of coffee? Because apparently we would 😂

We came home with new relationships, exciting plans… and a few battle scars. 🦟

More soon.

Big thanks to @khipucoffee for taking us to the source.
