A Sydney man and an Englishman have today confirmed their weekly sporting conversations can officially be classified as a “global media platform” after putting on some nice Motorino gear and standing in front of a camera.

Jimmy Smith and Conor Dolan are the two highly qualified voices behind Sidebar Sports a podcast covering sport from across the globe, despite neither man being consulted by a professional sporting organisation at any stage.

The show combines Australia and the UK’s timeless love-hate relationship with a nauseating amount of American sports chat, alongside film, television, music, internet debates and whatever off-field scandal has ruined the group chat that week.

“We wanted to create something for people who love sport but don’t necessarily want to hear a retired player explain defensive structures for 50 minutes,” said Smith, before Dolan interrupted to explain why England’s latest defeat was actually a moral victory.

Listeners are invited to come for the sport, stay for the nonsense and, through an unfortunate administrative oversight, occasionally learn something.

The pair are now welcoming partnerships and collaborations, having completed the traditional final step required of any serious media organisation: getting professional photos taken.

Family Feud contestant asked to name body part beginning with ‘T’ confirms he’s never been an ass man.

With teeth, toes and tongue all available, Eric instead went with “titties”.

The answer was delivered with the quiet confidence of a man who had finally been asked something relevant to his area of expertise, confirming he’s a 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘣*𝘵𝘤𝘩.

Host Steve Harvey required a moment to process the response. In hindsight, asking for a body part beginning with B probably wouldn’t have changed much.

While some viewers might question his response, at no point was Eric asked to be a gentleman. Just to name a body part.

Local English football supporter Darren, 58, says he has spent decades feeling unfairly discriminated against by authorities who prohibit alcohol consumption at football matches.

“He’s actually alright, that Burnham bloke,” said the Reform voter after news emerged this week that the Prime Minister is pushing for a repeal on the ban on drinking alcohol in football stands.

Speaking from a packed train carriage full of fellow away fans clutching Stella Artois tinies, Darren explained that football supporters have long been unfairly stereotyped despite decades of well-documented verbal and physical abuse directed at players, fellow fans and, on occasion, innocent members of the public.
