Sometimes the best solutions are the simplest ones!

For months, our Joint Health & Safety Committee had been looking for a way to make hearing protection more accessible. Earplugs were tucked away in an office, and our plan to build a dispenser kept getting pushed down the production queue.

Then came the light bulb moment! 💡

We repurposed an old gumball machine that had been sitting in our lunchroom for years, had our fabricator disable the coin mechanism, and filled it with 150 pairs of earplugs!

Now, hearing protection is easy to find, free to grab, and actually getting used on the way into the shop.

A little creativity, some teamwork, and a whole lot of problem-solving. Proud of our team for making safety fun, affordable, and sustainable!

Today, we welcomed students from Stamford Collegiate to our shop for a Sign Manufacturing Day art session and shop tour.

Students learned about how signs are made, from the first creative ideas to the finished product, and joined us for a hands-on sign painting activity. They also saw the many career paths the sign industry offers, including design, printing, fabrication, welding, electrical and installation.

The sign industry is a great place to build practical skills, solve problems, work creatively and see the results of your work out in the community. Thank you to the students and staff from Stamford Collegiate for spending the morning with us.

A big thank you to Marc Pinard from PPG for spending time with our team and giving us a refresh on painting techniques, products and best practices.

Investing in employee development is an important part of how we continue to improve the quality of the work leaving our shop. There is always an opportunity to sharpen our skills, learn from industry experts and make sure we’re following the best processes possible.

Thank you again, Marc and PPG, for sharing your time and expertise with our team!

The casino gave us a call after one of their height restrictors took a hit.

Our team removed the hinge, brought it back to the shop for a welding repair, and had everything reinstalled in one day. 😎🛠️
