Caution ⚠️ May Cause Hot Branding ☕️ It’s so crazy to think I’m celebrating 7 years of graphic design, 6 of which I’ve been a full time freelancer for my brand @decafedigital 😌🤍 I’m so grateful to the experiences and clients that have transformed me into who I’ve become. When I started I couldn’t have imagined the life I would create for myself or the impact I be able create for my clients. ✨ From websites, flyers, billboards and brick and mortars I feel like I’ve done it all, but I know there’s still so much more for me to learn and experience. I can’t wait to see how year 7 looks for me as I push forward with new launches and better services to serve entrepreneurs of all kinds. To my clients, you all are my heart. You teach me so much about myself, my own business and even a few tricks of your personal trade (you know I’m gone read the e-books yall be making me design 😂) without you I wouldn’t be half the designer I am. Met her at Barnes & Noble's drinking coffee and reading. 📚☕️ #KeepGoing I see so many of my followers say limiting beliefs about themselves and why they feel incapable of reading more or joining a book club so here’s some affirmations to disable the beliefs you have about yourself: “I can’t read fast enough” — reading is like going to the gym, everyone starts at different levels but your ability to execute in a timely manner is a result of your consistency and discipline to show up and lift the weight. No one can do something well or quickly without repetition. Committing to the journey is what frees you to surpass your limits. “I don’t have the time” — on average reading 10 pages of a book takes 20 minutes. 10 pages a day for 30 days puts you at the end of a 300-page book. If you’re telling me that in your day you don’t have 20 minutes to invest in your mind or mental health, I’ll tell you that you don’t prioritize yourself as highly as you should. “I don’t enjoy reading” — all we do every day is go from place to place and read. E-mails, menus and social media feeds you name it. If reading is a struggle for you it might be because you’ve yet to find the right book. Maybe self-help isn’t your thing, like CSI? Try murder mysteries, enjoy RomComs, try romance novels….there’s a genre for everyone. “I always start but I never finish” — you don’t finish because you don’t give yourself a reason to. Find a community that encourages you to see it through and regurgitate the information — find people to enjoy the book with you or reward yourself for completion, triggers are important and effective so use them! If you’re in search of a book community that introduces you to unique topics and allows you to have dope conversations I suggest tapping in with @bookedandbusybookclub_ . Last year I got to read 12 books and had a good time doing it. “The highest form of love is consideration” ❤️ Sentiments by @lekan.official and co-signed by myself and my former lovers. 🌹 This concert was healing, it took me back to 5 years ago in Miami during Art Basel for my 24th birthday when I was so broken I couldn’t appreciate the kindness of someone I cared about because I was so consumed with everything I wasn’t, I couldn’t see who God gave me the ability to be. 🎙️ @masego was having a concert in Wynwood and I was torn because I felt like going into my birthday I wasn’t where I wanted to be and I was torn between wanting to enjoy life and feeling like I didn’t deserve to. That night I decided to go to the photo studio with my former lover and make the magic you all know as my brand shoot with the 3 personalities. I didn’t know it then, but God was foreshadowing the exact season of my life now. So much of my early twenties was me ripping myself in pieces because I didn’t understand how I could be all 3: Coffee the Creative 🩵: The silent worker, reader, worshiper, witnessing life, introverted observer hovering over her own life and making art from ashes Coffee the Creator ☕️: That’s the boss lady, loud, straight to the point and standing on business when it comes to her clients and branding. She’s hot and heavy. and Carefree Coffee 🎷: Mind off, Music on, Dancing in the party like nobody’s watching, late nights, early mornings letting the good times roll. Today I know the truth, that even beautiful people can be broken. Where we see shattered glass, others see a mosaic. Beautiful colors pieced together like an irreproducible puzzle that God could only ever create once. Today I stand as a woman who is all the pieces, with enough consideration to know how many of them were forged in the fire with people who I love, respect and admire. I live for the days that I can't remember, with the people that I won't forget. ☕ This season of life is so expansive it’s hard to put into words how grateful I am. When I moved home, and shut down @decafedigital I had so many doubts. About my life, my purpose, my future, but the way things have fallen in to place give me hope that this next season will be one that shapes me into the woman I've always wanted to become.
