On the 4th of this month, I was at AFRICANXT, which took place at Landmark Event Center.

I interpreted a panel discussion moderated by @btayinde on INCLUSION STORIES AND TECH COLLABORATION TO ENSURE NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND

@inclusionxpert spoke about technology to promote disability inclusion in the workplace.

@iadebayodare spoke about technology for inclusive education and education for children out of school.

@tonye_f told is how she creates content for African children with African characters and children with disabilities.

@titilopeadewusi told us how she creates educational games for kids to support learning.

And myself @signwithjoyby_dorcas the Sign Language Interpreter of the day.

Truly, with the right technology, inclusive practices are easier to achieve. Repost @btayinde

‎To the glory of God, I am deeply grateful for the privilege to serve as the Sign Language Interpreter to God’s servant, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, during today’s October Thanksgiving Service.
‎
‎Today’s message, “Acceptable Service,” was deep, timely and inspiring. It reminded me that I am created for a purpose, and that purpose must be fulfilled.
‎
‎As I serve through Sign Language, I pray that my service to God will never be in vain, but will always be acceptable before Him. 🙏🏽
‎
‎Thank You, Almighty God, for the grace to see the first Sunday of October 2026 and for yet another opportunity to serve You and make a difference.
‎
‎All glory belongs to God! 🙌

Yesterday, I spent the whole day at the RISE Summit 2026, organised by @patrickspeech — and honestly, every minute was worth it! ✨
‎
‎The theme, “From Cradle to Contribution,” was not just a beautiful statement; it was brought to life throughout the programme.
‎
‎The keynote sessions were insightful, the panel discussions were thought-provoking, and the conversations around inclusion, growth, support and creating opportunities for every individual were truly impactful.
‎
‎I was honoured to participate as a Sign Language Interpreter, helping to make the conversations, knowledge and experiences shared at the summit accessible to members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. 🤟🏽
‎
‎For me, interpreting is more than putting spoken words into signs.
‎
‎It is about access.
‎It is about connection.
‎It is about making sure that when important conversations are happening, Deaf people are not left out of the room.
‎
‎This is why I do what I do.
‎
‎Because inclusion is not complete until everyone can participate, contribute and be heard.
‎
‎Thank you, @patrickspeech, and everyone who made RISE Summit 2026 such a memorable and impactful experience.
‎

Sign language has a vocabulary for dentistry too. 🦷🤟

For Sign Language Week, SCDAN teamed up with @signwithjoy to teach common dental terms in sign language and highlight the importance of accessible communication in oral healthcare.

Being able to understand and be understood can make dental care more comfortable and inclusive for members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Here’s to making dentistry more accessible, one sign at a time. 🦷🤟
