Traveling with Celiac Disease has its unique challenges, but I've discovered some products that make life on the road a lot easier. Here are a few of my favorites that came with me while my family and I are traveled around the world this past year. Swipe through all the photos above for more➡️

First off, packing a small stash of my favorite spices is a game-changer. It's a smart way to enjoy familiar flavors without constantly rebuying and wasting spices while on the go. Whether I'm cooking in an Airbnb or whipping up a quick meal in a hotel, these spices add that extra something to my dishes.

Having my celiac translation cards in foreign speaking countries was a no brainer. It was so nice to not have to use Google translate and worry that they didn't understand my needs.

Dining out can sometimes lead to bloating and discomfort, especially when restaurants use additives and oils that don't sit well with Celiac sufferers. Thankfully, I've tried various remedies, but the one that's truly impressed me is Hilma. This all-natural solution has become my go-to for managing bloating and stomach pains. It's compact and reliable, making it a permanent fixture in my travel bag🧳

The freezable food cooler that doubles as a stylish purse is an absolute must-have. It's perfect for keeping my gluten-free meals fresh on long journeys. You never know when you'll find a safe meal option, so being prepared with your own food is a game-changer.

Whether you're a fellow Celiac traveler or just looking for smart culinary solutions, I hope these tips help make your journeys a little more delicious and a lot more convenient.

✨What To Do If You Get Glutened (My Go-To Recovery Tips)

Even when we’re careful, it happens — and when it does, your body needs a little extra support to recover. Here’s what helps me the most when I’ve been glutened:

1️⃣ Rest + Hydrate
Your body is working hard to flush out the gluten and calm inflammation. Give yourself permission to slow down, rest, and drink plenty of water or electrolytes to stay hydrated and support your system.

2️⃣ Eat Gentle, Soothing Foods
Keep meals simple — things like bone broth, clean smoothies, and soups. These are easy on your stomach and help reduce irritation while your gut heals.

3️⃣ Keep Meals Simple for a Few Days
Even your usual “safe” foods might be harder to tolerate while your gut is inflamed. Avoid processed foods, dairy, and heavy fats for a few days, and skip any personal triggers you know cause issues (for me that’s sugar, caffeine, and fried foods). Give your digestion a real break so your body can focus on recovery.

4️⃣ Sip on Gut-Soothing Tea 🍵
Teas like peppermint, chamomile, ginger, or fennel can calm stomach pain, reduce bloating, and support digestion. I love sipping on one throughout the day to help ease cramping and nausea.

5️⃣ Support Detox Pathways
A gentle walk, Epsom salt bath, or time in a sauna can help move things along. Light movement, sweating, and deep breathing all support your body’s natural detox process and help you feel better faster.

6️⃣ Use Red Light Therapy 🔴
Red light gives more energy to your cells, helping reduce inflammation and ease pain or discomfort. It’s one of my favorite tools for recovery — I use my red light every day at home, and it’s made a huge difference for me.

💬 Reply “red light” below and I’ll send you info on the device I use (and how to get a big discount!).

We can’t always prevent being glutened, but we can give our bodies the best support possible to bounce back quickly. 💛

🍦 Celiac friends... this is one of the BEST ice cream shops I've found in Utah!

If you're anywhere near Pleasant Grove, you need to check out @stellasicecreampg . They go above and beyond to help prevent cross-contact, which gave me so much confidence eating here.

Here's what they do:

✨ Hand-make their gluten-free waffle cones using a dedicated waffle iron
✨ Offer gluten-free waffle cones, cake cones, and sugar cones
✨ Keep the gluten-free cones in a separate glass enclosure
✨ Always have 8 gluten-free & dairy-free ice cream flavors
✨ Store those flavors in their own dedicated glass freezer
✨ Don't use those gluten-free flavors when serving regular gluten-containing cones
✨ Make the gluten-free ice cream in a dedicated gluten-free ice cream mixer

****NOTE: They do use an oat base for some of their gluten free/dairy free flavors and it isn't certified gluten free so I recommend only getting the flavors that use a coconut base instead of the oat base.

And can we talk about the Chocolate Oreo flavor made with gluten-free Oreos?! 🤯 It was SO good that I literally went back to the owner just to make sure I had heard him correctly because I couldn't believe it was gluten-free.

As always, everyone's comfort level is different, so ask questions and make the decision that's right for you. But I was incredibly impressed with the precautions Stella's takes for the gluten-free community. 💛

Gluten Free Food I ate in London🇬🇧 as someone with Celiac Disease

🍔Honest Burgers - Gluten free options with locations all over London (the burger and sauce were delicious, but the bun wasn’t my favorite). They have a dedicated fryer and the fries are on point.

🧁Polka Dot Bakery in Old Spitalfields Market - 100% gluten free food stand with so many yummy baked goods.

🥟Ugly Dumplings - One of my favorite meals on my trip. They have delicious gluten free dumplings that are made safely. It isn’t 100% gluten free but so so delicious.

🍜Pho - There are locations all over London and their pho and curry were incredible.

🍦Amorino Gelato - They have separately bagged gluten free cones, but make sure to have them change their gloves, get new scoops and grab gelato from the back of the container.

🐟Hobson’s Fish and Chips - Some of the best gluten free fish and chips I’ve ever had and they have a separate gluten free fryer.

🥭Khanon Knok - The mango sticky rice and the coconut pancakes were so delicious and gluten free.

🌮Tacos Padre in Borough Market - This taco shop is 100% gluten free and has some really tasty tacos.

🥐Libby’s - 100% gluten free bakery and cafe.

Not pictured here is my FAVORITE meal at Bubala. I was too busy enjoying it that I forgot to take pictures. It is Middle Eastern cuisine and there was a set menu, but honestly everything I tried was so incredibly delicious.

I know there are a ton of others so make sure to add your favorites that I missed below👇🏻

When I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, just over 12 years ago, the thought of travel overwhelmed me to the point of avoiding trips all together. Over time I dipped my toe into travel and realized with the right planning and mindset traveling with Celiac Disease is not only possible, but it is enjoyable.

While traveling with Celiac Disease still to this day remains challenging, practice makes perfect 👊🏻

In fact, we took a year long round the world trip with our family several years back. Finding restaurants that were safe was my top priority. It requires a considerable amount of research and preparation.

I've had both successful and not-so-successful trips. Nearly every journey involves detours of about 20 minutes just to find a safe place to eat.

I've even written an eBook on the subject, guiding you on how to locate gluten-free restaurants for your travels.

Simply comment "CELIAC" and I'll send you all the details on how to get it directly to your inbox 💌

This @gustobrasilusa cheese bread is good on its own but my families favorite way to eat it is using it to make a cheesy and delicious gluten free pizza crust🍕🍕

I've tried making it with other types of cheese bread and it just doesn't turn out the same. I'm telling you if you live in Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming or Montana use their store locator and find a store near you because I promise you will love it!

You can find them in @samsclub across the state.

I've never compared a gluten free pizza crust to a regular gluten pizza crust and had mine be thicker and fluffier😳🤯

So many people recommended me heading to Daisy's Cafe in Toon Town for this incredible gluten free flopover and it didn't disappoint.

When I first saw it I was afraid to try it because it looked so good so I made my sister in law try it. After trying both she gave me the approval that it in fact was gluten free.

I'm sure you all have done that before 🤣

Thank you to all of you who recommended this to me. It was definitely worth the hype. If you are gluten free and heading to Disneyland put this on your must have list!

POV: You open the Airbnb cabinet and immediately lose your appetite 🤢🍳

Between mystery crumbs, scratched pans, and who-knows-what residue… sometimes you do not want to use what’s provided—especially with celiac disease.

Here’s how I make shared Airbnb kitchens safer 👇

• Bring toaster bags — perfect for Airbnbs whether you’re driving or flying
• If possible, pack one trusted pan from home
• If you can’t bring a pan, choose stainless steel at the Airbnb and give it a very thorough wash
↳ Teflon can hide gluten in scratches (and… other things 😬)
• Check the cutting boards
↳ Wood boards can trap gluten in grooves
↳ We often use paper plates as cutting surfaces instead
• Wash everything once before using
↳ Especially silverware
• After washing, store utensils upside down in clean glass cups so they don’t touch shared drawers
• Use the dishwasher to run a load of the dishes you want to use
• Bring a small sponge or scrubber just for your gluten-free dishes
• When in doubt, simple meals = safer meals

👇 Want my free mini eBook with everything I pack when traveling with celiac disease?

Comment PACK and I’ll send it to you 💛
