On October 10, we’re celebrating the cozy flavors of fall, from maple and baking spice to slow-simmered root vegetables and hearty greens. Amongst it all, popping tomatoes and husk cherries, vivid ginger and briny oysters, little bits of summer’s remaining brightness.

We’d love for you to join us for the final farm dinner of the season!

The details for a dinner party are really what makes them magical. I know when I hear the back story or inspiration behind certain menus, dishes or cocktails, it feels like spotting a unicorn in the wild. I love to use those feelings of awe and inspiration to then inspire and create the devilish details that make a dinner party fun.

Looking back at our “summer synesthesia” dinner, we really had some fun with the details…The @wanderwoodmaine farm eggs - each individually cracked, cleaned, then yolks whipped with local mushrooms to make a savory custard, that was served back into the egg shell.

The ceramic vegetable pints on the welcome table that I made @handfulstudios with my own two hands.

The thoughtful placement of the table and its settings with string lights to enhance the summer glimmer as the sun fell.

Pretty cool stuff, right?!

You should join us at the next one October 10th. Get your tickets soon, link in bio!

August is a funny month. The sunny days are still perfect, but the evenings whisper with just enough chill for the ever-starving wheel of change to start screaming about pumpkin spice and cozy sweaters. There is so much time for that to come, but that’s not what August is for. It’s time to stay on vacation, to languish over long meals, to catch the sunset and go stargazing before that chill steals the romance from it all. It’s time to get so lost playing tennis on Cape Cod or picking the squishy bodies of ripe tomatoes off their vines that you forget to respond to messages. Somehow, in August, being slow to respond is charming; come September the powers that be will start circling back. It’s the best of the season, when tans are baked into skin and the car is already sandy so what’s one more beach day and the farmer’s market is overflowing with everything that you want to eat right now. Don’t waste it! Soon the vegetables will start to replace their thin skins with coats designed for frost, the fleshy bulges of tomatoes will harden into those of gourds, and you’ll be tempted to turn on the oven you’ve been avoiding. When it’s time to don the sweater you’ve been storing for months, I hope your skin still carries a last bit of the heat from a day in the sun. I hope it’s still coated with a thin sheen of salt from sweat or the sea, because you made a point to soak up the languid joy of that summer you spent all spring hanging in anticipation over. Don’t forget the longing you felt before your bones were softened by the heat of July and you finally got that trip you yearned for all winter. Lean into it, let the seduction continue well into September. Then you can settle down and play homemaker with the fall. by @sipandspoonful

July was a month of expansion and contraction. My goal for the 1st-14th was to get as much summer as I possibly could: I took a trip, saw summer concerts, went to Fenway, and swam in the ocean. I went a spontaneous roadtrip and smelled the flowers, drank too much outside, drank coffee in the park, got a sunburn. I even watched a bald eagle fly over us on the beach. Then, Brent got our air conditioning figured out and I got my hip cut open and I’ve been spending most of my time since on the couch. I’ve been fed well both physically and spiritually by many wonderful friends and family, even though my dog has stopped talking to me. I’ve decided to get into Sashiko mending. I finished Love Island (for better or worse). And I really, really can’t wait to sit in the park again come September. by @sipandspoonful

Woke up June first in the woods in California, went to sleep June 30th on a barge in East London. In the middle, visited some farms, sat in the park with the dog, and spent some good dinners around the table.

It’s shaping up to be a pretty good summer I guess. by @sipandspoonful

This past April I was able to collaborate on Tender, a staged dining concept by artist Aaron T Stephan and hospitality expert Gabriela Acero. The goal was to draw on feelings of nostalgia through food and the different spaces they are enjoyed. From a solo snack at a bar while reading, late night food trucks, to loud family dinners.

I can’t begin to express how challenging but satisfying this dinner was and how grateful I am to have been a part of this collaboration. Thank you to my teammates, family, friends, sponsors and all who were able to attend. This was certainly something special. taken in Center for Maine Contemporary Art by @sipandspoonful

For two weeks in April, @yeahthatbrentfoster and I headed up the coast to cook dinner in the courtyard of @cmcanow for Tender, an immersive art performance by @aarontstephan and Gabriela Acero.

We got to serve chicken from our friends at @applecreekmaine; cook it over open fire come rain, shine, sleet, and (thankfully no) snow; and I got to get a bagel and a new David Bowie shirt on my way to pick it up. We got to spend our days in between shows at the beautiful @wanderwoodmaine and I made enough tiramisu to last me a lifetime. All in all, something to feel successful about! by @sipandspoonful
