Empowering local shops to grow profitably and remain at the ❤️ of our communities

Justin told us he’d never open a second location.

We asked him when we filmed at the original @apolloniaspizza . He was pretty clear about it.

Well, here we are at location number two on Crenshaw in Los Angeles. And the pizza? Just as good.

I’m always a little hesitant when a place this good opens another spot. The original has the lines, the reputation, and a lot to live up to. All well deserved.

But Justin has taken his time with this one, especially when it comes to training his team. They’re doing rounds and squares, there’s a lot more space, and he’s put real thought into making it feel welcoming.

We got to visit recently, and we have a new video coming where we talk about what changed his mind and how he’s keeping the quality just as high.

If you’ve been wanting to try Apollonia’s but couldn’t get into the original, put the Crenshaw location on your list. by @slice

What happens when you buy a pizza shop without ever planning to own a restaurant?

That’s exactly how @allmine.oceanside in Oceanside, California, got its start.

We stopped by to meet the owners, check out their operation, and, of course, try the pizza.

What I loved about this place was how much thought went into everything. From the pizza and fresh ingredients to the drinks, the layout, and even the herbs they’re growing themselves.

It’s a small space, but they’re making the most of every inch.

And the pizza? Really good!

This is one of those places where you can tell the owners genuinely care about what they’re building.

He never worked in a kitchen. Then he opened a pizza shop.

No deck oven. No massive gas bill. Just three Turbo Chefs and a couple of Ooni Volt 2’s running on electric... and a power panel that keeps fighting back.

Full episode of Pizzeria Insider is live now. Link in bio.

Could you run a shop off countertop ovens? Tell me in the comments.#pizza #pizzashop by @slice

He started with pizza pop-ups. Now he’s turned an old clam shack into Deadproof Pizza and landed on Food Network.

On the next episode of Pizzeria Insider, we meet Dante, tour his $117,000 pizza trailer, and hear what it’s really like running a food truck and your first pizza shop at the same time.

And yes, we try that pepperoni and ricotta pizza. 🍕

Coming soon to the Slice YouTube channel.

I think you have to be a little delusional to be an entrepreneur. 😂

Because if you were completely rational about the hours, the risk, the stress and everything that could go wrong… you’d probably never do it.

Sometimes being a little crazy is exactly what it takes.

We talked about that and a whole lot more at @papi_vivi .

One of the better pizzas I’ve had on this California trip came from this little spot in Oceanside.

It’s called @allmine.oceanside , and they’re doing some cool things here. Unique pizzas, a great neighborhood bar feel, and their own garden out back where they grow microgreens for the restaurant.

I stopped in for pizza and left wanting to come back and film a full Pizzeria Insider episode.

If you’re in Oceanside, put this one on your list. 🍕.whats the address? by @slice

Events can be more profitable for a pizza truck. But what about the customers who support you every day?

At @customcrustkitchen Crust, the community has given them a reason to stay put. Leaving for an event means weighing the extra money against being there for their regulars.

We talked about that decision and what it’s like running the business in the new episode of Pizzeria Insider.

Full episode is out now on YouTube. 🍕

Opening a new pizzeria is hard enough. Running it shouldn’t be.

Alfredo’s Pizza is using Slice to keep their registers, online orders, and phone orders all in one place, helping the team run a more efficient shop while staying focused on customers.

“We’re really going to take it to the next level here in this new space.”

That’s what Slice is built for.

@vitangelorecchia from @bellanapolipcfl Napoli has a strong opinion on pizza trends.

He respects sourdough, high hydration, and all the new-school techniques. But what his dad did has worked for years, and he doesn’t think traditional pizza is going anywhere.

His point was simple: you can control how you make the dough, but you can’t control how every person digests it.

And yes, he made a special pizza just for us at the end. 🍕

New episodes of Pizzeria Insider are out later today.

We stopped by @pats.apizza to see how they handle a busy Friday, where they can do up to 300 pizzas between takeout and slices, without DoorDash.

A lot of shops feel like they need every order they can get. Pat’s is a good reminder that if you have the demand, the right systems, and a product people want to come back for, you can build a really strong business your own way.

This is one of the coolest pizza setups I’ve seen in a while.

@customcrustkitchen in Peabody, MA is working out of this tiny pizza trailer and doing 50–100 pizzas a day. And when I say tiny, I mean tiny. Christian, his wife, and his mother-in-law are making it work in a really small space.

They’ve got a commissary right next door and can take the trailer out for events and parties too. Really smart setup.

Also tried the Peabody Smokehouse with ranch on it. I know. Save the comments 😂 It was actually really good.

Full episode coming soon on the @Slice YouTube channel.
