Germany is walking a fine line between treading a path it swore never to tread again and finally confronting the internalized hatred that has been bottled up and is coalescing before us into an old, familiar monster.

Don’t be deceived by partisan debates: the rise of the right is exposing something old and rotten within the German psyche.

Perhaps the nation will learn from its sordid past, or inadvertently repeat the same mistakes. Whatever the case, the truth is that the sentiments fueling the rise of the right wing are German sentiments, and the right wing is only the face of it.

Greetings and Happy Resurrection to all who celebrate.

Personally, I am celebrating life, the return of the Sun, and the joyous opportunity to introduce ‘Liberation from the Inside Out’, a summer course I’ll be teaching starting in a few short weeks.

Over 13 weekly sessions starting April 22nd, I will be leading a group through critical lecture and discussions to somatic practices, and creative writing.

We will ask and sit with questions about how structural forces shape our [inner] lives, where they live in our bodies, and what it looks like to begin freeing ourselves from the inside out.

This course is free and open to all. We are working on offering it as a hybrid of both in-person in Hamburg and online.

Registration closes April 19 and we will begin April 22.

A happy first birthday to one of my brain children—the first of many books to come.

The road opener, my sword and shield. The reminder of why I am alive.

In writing this book, I was shown to have come from a long line of scribes. Try as I might to run from this calling, this ancestral blessing and homework, it remains a lifelong commitment; a door that will always remain open to me should I choose to walk through it.

Thank you to the readers who bought this book; the ones who have given feedback, the people who lent their presence in too numerous ways to be listed so that I could have what I needed to do this work.

I am blessed. My life is full, and ‘Dear Bode, What the Fire Gave Me,’ is testament to this fact.

Still self published, until a publisher with enough balls takes it on. Until then, thank you for supporting an indie writer (!) 🙏🏾

Our recent conversation follows the tragic death of Professor Jason Arday, whom we discussed in the last episode while he was still alive and embroiled in the media manhunt that eventually led to his death.

We are sitting with questions about how certain thinkers and academics are forgiven, protected, and canonized while others are discarded for far less.

Furthermore, we’re sitting with questions about how DEl can become a genuine power-sharing initiative, one that actually serves and protects the people it elevates, and also, how can we reckon honestly with a thinker’s racism while continuing to engage with his work?
