Honrando a Nuestros Ancestros puts focus on our beloved family members who died in their struggle for a better life, for fairness, land justice, tending to our Mother Earth,
dignified housing, cultural worldviews, for historically accurate education, and for peace of mind. We are against past and
ongoing colonial injustices that take away our land resources that have displaced millons of communities and impacted our mental health. We oppose
gentrification that displaces small, mom-and-pop business and the ongoing colonization of the world! This is what our younger generations are facing. Honrado a Nuestros Ancestros will
be for life, justice and against (colonial) gentrification.

SAVE THE DATE Sunday Nov 1st 10am-6:30pm This year we collaborating with @coyotl.macehualli and implementing educational workshops that will encourage conversations that deepen our
understanding of our current events to take action towards a better future . If you are interested in volunteering for this event, we especially
need help with face painting and bringing food, fruit, and drinks. by @sondelsereno

We thank you all again for joining us for our sixth annual Huapango de Flores last month. Each year we have new members to the community that add their grain of sand to make this community celebration possible. We hope to continue building together and hope to see more of you at the next one.

As Huapango season is around the corner for Son del Sereno, we’re reminiscing on fandangos past. In 2024, after spending the year visiting communities across California, we brought together new friends from Salinas, the Bay Area, Delano/Bakersfield and San Diego for one of our biggest huapangos to date. As we gear up for our next huapango, we want to share all these beautiful moments with you all, thanks to friend and photographer extraordinaire, @chicawithbees

We invite you to join us this Sunday, Nov 2nd for a small gathering and procession to honor our ancestors and martyrs: especially those who have died in struggle for a better world. The commemoration starts at 5:00pm with a have a convivio - get together to break tamales and cafe de ollla. At 6:00 we will start a procession to two altars and a mural to honor our ancestors and martyrs. In particular we are honoring Benito Flores, Assata Shakur and all the more than 100 thousand Palestinian children, brothers and sister who have died in resistance to Zionist Israeli genocide. taken in Eastside Café by @sondelsereno
