Episode 02 of Sonic Journeys with Surprise Chef of Big Crown Records is out now on YouTube! Click the link in bio to check it out.

Home-cooked meals, living room vinyl sessions, community radio visits, pints and pool at the pub — we did it all with the funk and cinematic soul Chefs in Melbourne, Australia.

Huge thanks to the guys for showing us around for two days and giving us a look behind the curtain at their lives, creative process, and camaraderie. This project isn’t possible without a group of talented artists and genuine people willing to take us in with open arms. Nothing but love.

Hope you enjoy — we put our hearts and soul into this.

Special shoutout to @chrisalderfer for all of his hard work and creativity.

Thanks also to @northside_records, @lookoutkid, @pbsfm and everyone we came across in Melbourne.

After 9 years in finance, I decided it was time for something different. Sonic Journeys is a docuseries about musicians, their culture, cities and lives and what inspires them in their music. Follow along for more stories like these.
