In October, Nathan traveled to Surabaya, Indonesia to interview @theemarloes of @bigcrownrecords. They spent two days traveling around Surabaya, eating food, meeting friends and getting to know each other. A great group of people and musicians, and he’s thrilled to share their story.

Nathan joined dublab as a volunteer in March 2024, seeking opportunities to make an impact within the music community and support organizations with missions he aligns with. It’s been one of the best decisions he’s made in recent memory, and he deeply values the organization and the incredible people in it.

A lot of people ask how this came about and it’s a cool story and indicative of how being curious and open can lead to exciting places. After discovering a new band’s sound, he asked Rachel Day if he could interview Thee Marloes and air it on dublab — the intention being a Zoom call.

A couple days later, he thought, what if I go to Indonesia? Rachel suggested he could grab dinner with the band and spend some time with them in the studio. One thing led to the next, and he was on his way to Surabaya with an itinerary built out by @adiabstrak to spend two days getting to know Thee Marloes.

The full interview drops 3/6 at 5PM PT on dublab radio and Nathan’s YouTube channel. Then, on 3/8 at 8PM PT, part 2 will premiere on dublab radio—featuring an exclusive mix curated by Thee Marloes.
