What a day it’s been for Griddle! We were invited to Downing Street along with several other female founded British Consumer Brands to celebrate the progress we’ve been making in the UK supporting female entrepreneurship. It was such a privilege to be there alongside so many amazing people and to have the hard work of building Griddle recognised. We also loved to hear that Akshata Murty enjoys our waffles in the absence of Eggo! (Ours are better, we know!!) Also a catch me moment getting to meet @hollytucker founder of @notonthehighstreet - She’s been someone I’ve looked up to for many years and devoured all her podcasts over Lock Down. Highly recommend listen or her book. Definitely star struck after today 🤩 #founder #female @buywomenbuilt @wearegriddle @10downingstreet taken in Downing Street 10. by @sophiersm

Rest peacefully Grannie I didn’t need write or post this. But I wanted to. I suppose just a chance to turn something incredibly sad into a moment to celebrate a full life. When she started dialysis it destroyed her appetite and taste buds but she’d always call me to tell me how many waffles she’d bought from Tesco because they were the only thing she could stomach and actually enjoy which gave her some energy. Her freezer was full of the choc-chip ones. Even at 89 she was proudly getting in her protein! She liked the French Toast too, but it was always the waffles. She’d happily spend an afternoon in her local Tesco chatting to anyone who would listen, she was so proud and our best brand ambassador. It’s a silly memory, but it’s a happy one I’ve been thinking of a lot today and I’m glad I get to share it. 🕊️ by @sophiersm

One of the best parts of building a brand is learning from other founders who’ve been through the same growing pains. For the final part of Episode 6 of my Founder Series with @sophiersm from @griddlebakery, we get into our shared experience of the Tesco Accelerator, challenger brands worth watching, and what it takes to make the jump from UK retail into @carrefourfrance. Who wants to be on the next episode of my Founder Series? 👇 by @sophiersm

Our Marathon Debuts !!!! 🤩🤩 Justin’s longest ever run and my first ever Road Marathon. It meant a lot to get here, I had a lot of set backs earlier this year and two DNS’s - so this marathon was about something special- getting to the start line ready to race my best on the day, have FUN and do it with my Justi. And I ticked all those boxes. So proud of my Justi for smashing it too. Excited head back to the trail running now though 😅 #runner #warsawmarathon by @sophiersm
