This is the first post I’ve ever been scared to publish, and a version of this has been sitting in my notes app for a while, but it doesn’t scare me hitting post now, thanks to the encouragement of some amazing people.
I never planned to work in country music media; it happened super organically from a genuine love of the music at a time in my life when I felt stuck and my mental health was at the lowest point it’s ever been, coupled with some chance encounters with certain people that, looking back now, feel like fate. They do say what’s truly meant for you will find you, so who knows?
My story started with a love of @alanaspringsteen debut album “Twenty Something” - Alana was releasing that as I was travelling around Australia by myself in 2023. On a pure country music fan level, I just loved it - still do - but the day after I landed home, nipping into a work environment that was already not great triggered a series of events that would hugely impact my mental and physical health, and then the music that had been the soundtrack to one of the best trips ever became the inspiration to change my situation entirely. It’s wild how you can hear a song 1000 times, but the lyrics can hit so different when you’re really going through something.

We are SO EXCITED to finally launch The Dirt Road Diaries Podcast.
We want this podcast to be a place to celebrate not only the music and the artists that bring us all together as fans, but also the country music community itself, which is just so special, and we want y’all to be part of it as we build this together.

Morgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey have been tapped to co-host ‘Back Country Radio’ for the upcoming GTA VI (out November 13th).
“MW” and “Delta Dawne” will play ‘the best in rebel rick, honky tonk, red dirt and outlaw country’ featuring artists such as Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr.

With two No. 1s as a songwriter and his own single nearing Top 15 at Country radio, ACM Award-winning country artist Greylan James is ready to put his own stories on full display with his debut album Greylan James, due Nov. 13 via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment. Across 13 original tracks – all co-written and 11 produced or co-produced by James – and a special Dolly Parton cover, James opens the door to the experiences that shaped him while showcasing the emotional honesty and natural storytelling that have become staples in his growing catalog. The cover art features his own dog, Knox, for an extra personal touch.

“I’ve spent the past 10 years in town writing songs for other artists while trying to navigate becoming the artist I always dreamed of being,” shared James. “After the past year, I feel like I’ve found my footing, and it’s now the perfect time to share my story through my self-titled debut album. This is the first time I’ve truly let people see all of me, from the good, the bad, the mistakes, the memories and everything in between. Breakout star of the 2026 @c2cfestival Spotlight Stage @emilyann_music is set to release her new EP ‘Thread’ on October 16th ahead of her return to the UK supporting @codyjohnson on his arena tour.

@drewbaldridgemusic has announced a UK leg of his world tour set for February 2027.

Baldridge released released his first major-label debut ‘Farm Faith Family on September 18th via @bbrmusicgroup. Baldridge co-wrote 14 of the 16 tracks. The project follows his breakout success with ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter’

The One Where Gramps Met First Time Flyers…

I fell in love with country music as a kid riding in my Grandad’s car listening to Dolly, Kenny Rogers & so many others. So to now have Gramps riding in my car still listening to Dolly & Kenny, but also to contemporary artists that mean a lot to me, such as First Time Flyers & Alana Springsteen and having that same experience means so much.

And last week was special; I got to take Gramps (and mum) to his second concert in my lifetime. First was Dolly in 2019, but a few months ago, he asked if I’d take him to see @firsttimeflyers because he’d heard them in my car and had been playing them at home too.
It was the easiest yes ever, and it ended up being one of my favourite memories I have with Gramps, so to get to share that with him and Mum, just like Dolly at the Opry, meant the world.
