An echo from the second episode of the Loom Recording Sessions, a performance series conceived by @marina____marques in the context of @amyrevier residency at @casa_yali the loom becomes a listening and recording apparatus, translating ephemeral interactions into woven compositions.

This time joined by musicians @_sofiapozdniakova and @gaudhbr Amy Revier activated a live performance that brought together musical improvisation in dialogue with her weaving practice.

The event took place on the occasion of the opening of CASA YALI’s new temporary space at @fondazionemarchesani currently dedicated to the continuation of Amy Revier’s residency and research project in Venice.

First few weeks unpacking in the space, setting up for making new work, opening the doors on occasion for guests, getting ready for collaborations with special musicians, events around food and wine and books with people I love in Venice. Spazio Revier is my working studio and experimental project space open by appointment, supported by @casa_yali over my artist residency in Venice. Over at @casa_yali you can find my exhibition and works installed with a show curated by lovely @marina____marques on through July 24 by @spazio.revier

LOOM RECORDING SESSION 02
@amyrevier with @_sofiapozdniakova and @gaudhbr
Sunday 7 June 2026, 8-10 pm
At @spazio.revier

Curated by @marina____marques

The Loom Recording Sessions began during Amy Revier’s residency as a way of opening the artist’s studio to the public and creating moments of exchange through listening. Bringing together local and visiting musicians, in each session the loom Is conceived as a recording device transforming ephemeral encounters into material traces and unique woven artifacts.

Sòfia Pozdniakova and Gabriele Tai share an artistic practice situated at the intersection of contemporary music, improvisation, and performance. Their work intertwines voice, cello, and electronics as materials for sonic exploration, where sound is shaped through listening, relational dynamics, and spatial awareness.
Active internationally across contemporary music, visual arts, and performance, they have collaborated with artists including Gavin Bryars, Claron McFadden, John King, Faustin Linyekula, and Emanuele Wiltsch Barberio. Their work has been presented in collaboration with institutions and festivals such as the Venice Biennale, Festival Luigi Nono, Cinema Galleggiante, MARe / Museum of Recent Art (Bucharest), Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi, Berggruen Institute, and Ocean Space.
Their collaboration has developed into a shared practice in which composition and improvisation overlap, generating open-ended sonic situations that are constantly evolving and responsive to both space and performative context.
Since 2021, both artists have been artists-in-residence at Cosmogram, a Venice-based music label.
