Exciting news! ⚡ Basanti Swad ke Hamare Chawal - the Hindi translation of 'Our Rice Tastes of Spring' written by our friend and journalist Anumeha Yadav is out!! 🌾 Translated by the brilliant writer Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar, who has taken this book to the next level. The book has been illustrated and designed by us at @spittingimage.in and art directed by @pardafash

Set in Jharkhand, through the story of Jinid and her family this book is a celebration of rice, highlights the importance of preserving indigenous seeds and is a critique of industrial farming. ☀️☀️
The book is published by Eklavya @eklavya_pitara who have always brought out such cool children's literature.

In anticipation of the upcoming 2026 edition of linearಬೆಂಗಳೂರು we wanted to share our work on the first edition last year. We’re always late to the social media game, but we get there! Follow @linearfestivals.in or visit www.linearfestivals.com to learn more and stay updated.

The visual identity designed by @discopuppet takes cues from the metro maps to form the main design element that anchors the look. The graphic language traditionally used to depict metro routes became a way to curate the schedule and various performers of the festival. The same visual cues made their way into other elements like merchandise and zines, instantly letting a festival-goer know what linear bangalore is about. Festival Poster for Linear 2025. Our Rice Tastes of Spring (2025) by Anumeha Yadav is a fictional picture book that draws on the author’s investigation into the central government’s rice fortification programme (now temporarily discontinued), published as a three-part series on @TheWireIn.

Encompassing interviews, findings, as well as personal relationships, the book critiques the corporate capture of food systems and what we risk losing when we privatise the commons. It employs a painterly mixed-media approach, using photographs from the Netarhat Plateau taken by the author while reporting in the region.

The book is published by @Red_PandaIndia and illustrated by @SpittingImage.in.

It takes a village to set up an installation and we're so happy to have been a part of @poorna_s and @amshuchukki 's team for 'Fragments of a Fugitive Poem' at the @g5a.culture warehouse Birthday weekender. Shot across Delhi, Karachi and Mumbai - it was so beautiful to see the Pakistani feminist poet Fahmida Riaz's inspiring work used as a spring board to express the themes of freedom, landscape and memory. Here are some behind the scenes from an amazing weekend. 🌟🌟
We @spittingimage.in were asked to do the sound for all the different parts of the installation - from the score for the 2 channel video, the music for the dance performance, a headphone piece using archival sound, setting up a row of megaphones, performing an electronic music set etc.
