Between supply chain delays, pandemic outbreaks, hurricanes, starting a new job, undertaking PhD exams, a cancer scare, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff, I had lost hope that this book would ever have a launch party; that it even mattered. Thank you, friends, for proving that thought wrong. The Sweetbitter launch at @broadstcider was more than I've ever dreamed of. I got to read the poems with my childhood best friend. I got to hear and showcase and share the work of folks I admire. I sold out of books. And my sweet partner snapped so many photos of it all. Sincere gratitude to everyone who came out last night or supported this book in any way. It means the world. by @staetia

A little evening in Grand Isle. Quiet, pretty, weird. I've never fished with dolphins before. I'll never fully understand how to move across the land of bridges. Or the ghost tree sentinels that seem more like a warning than ever before. This place: a child swims in the surf as a shrimp boat trawls by; countless oil rigs line the horizon. Something about Gatsby. A cooler of tiny trout. Much to think about.

A whirlwind trip into Manhattan to celebrate @pattiannnyc and @lowrienick who make me believe in love. Thank you for trusting me with this ceremony. It's been the honor of my life.

If anyone else needs a poet to wed them on a Manhattan rooftop, call yr girl. It was a joy and a privilege and life-giving. There's nothing better than doing this work for the people we love.
