I RAN MY FIRST MARATHON

Last year, it became one of my goals to run a marathon. I hadn’t even run half of one or shorter distances at the time! Regardless, I started running, training, and meeting the Lord through running. I couldn’t run a half marathon that I signed up for last year because of an injury, but last weekend, I ran my first marathon in 5 hrs and 49 minutes. I’m so grateful to God for giving me the ability to accomplish this goal, and for what He taught me through it. Training for and running a marathon is SO MUCH like training in our walk with Christ and running the race of faith. I truly couldn’t have done it without Him, and I wouldn’t have wanted to. Time and time again, I see how God’s power is made perfect in my weakness. To God be the glory!

I have the most incredible support system. Thank you to those who supported me in person or from afar, and by encouraging me and believing in me. I love you. 💕

I am still fundraising for long-term missions through this marathon if you would like to donate! You can do so with the link attached! God bless you! taken in Boulder, Colorado by @stephdsolis

I’M TURNING MY FIRST MARATHON INTO A FUNDRAISER FOR LONG-TERM MISSIONS

I’ve been “running” with Jesus for almost ten years, and I decided to put my faith into action by running my first marathon with @boulderthon THIS SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH.

Training for a marathon has taught me a lot about my walk with Christ and life in missions: to keep going when things get hard, to praise Him in the pain, that weakness is not failure, and that HIS STRENGTH enables me to do what I can’t do on my own.

Now, I’m running to keep running the race God has set before me—to keep saying yes to Him, to go wherever He sends me, and to make Jesus known.

I don’t know exactly what every mile ahead will look like, but I know I want to keep following Him.

This next season, I’ll be heading to YWAM Los Angeles as I take the next steps toward serving long-term in Italy, with the vision of eventually serving as a long-term missionary in Japan.

My goal is to raise $2,620 for 26.2 miles by October 2nd. Every dollar will help support my journey into long-term missions.

Will you run with me?

✨ HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING THE BIBLE IN A WEEK WITH INCREDIBLE PEOPLE WHO LOVE GOD ✨

@sarahlangkamp had a consistent word of the Lord that one of the weeks of the Lifestyle Bible School should be reading the entire Bible in one week. It seemed crazy, but we kept coming back to the same conclusion. Being on the other side of it, I’m now SO GRATEFUL that we did it.

We were drenched.
We were immersed.
We were encountered not just through the Scriptures, but with the Author of this Book!

I believe that God did so much in each one of us through this week, and that we will continue to see the fruit of it as the weeks unfold. This week we dive into a week of teaching on Bible Overview.

The Bible is ALIVE and it has POWER. There’s so many things that I’m taking from this week, but the biggest one is how GREAT, TRUE and AWESOME God really is, and that JESUS IS GOD AND HE CAN BE TRUSTED TO BE FOLLOWED.

29. 🎈

This year feels different and significant. There’s a weight and seriousness to it. There’s an excitement and anticipation.

Will I step into the more that’s available? Am I willing to go through the fire to come out as gold? Will I look beyond what I can see and trust that something greater than what I can imagine lies ahead? I don’t know—I’m trying; but I pray for the grace to do so. 🎈 taken in Tokyo by @stephdsolis
