I am hands down the LUCKIEST man on earth. One year with the woman of my dreams.❤️

My favorite thing about Annika is her passion for animals, the way she loved and cared for Frannie all through med school, doing whatever it took to help that sweet girl live a normal life. It took Frannie months just to be able to stand on her own, and Annika got her there.

She never once asked for help, a break, or a thank you for any of it.

This past year I got a front-row seat to that same heart, watching her pour herself into Penny and Piper the exact same way, no different than she did for Frannie.... kickass.

She's one of the most selfless people I've ever met.
Seriously, I am one lucky guy.

Just upgraded to dog dad 🦮

Annika and I flew to Ohio this last weekend to rescue these sweet girls!

Big thank you to @grinrescue and their fosters @abbeyswimm & @_mattdoyle_ for making this possible

The Penny is weighing in at just about 138lbs and she came with her bonded pair, Piper. Lucky us!

On Friday, Annika and I laid our sweetest girl down to rest.

Annika rescued @frannies.fight in December '23 when she was on the verge of being euthanized. She was neglected and abused the beginning of her life and weighed 125lbs.

We discovered Friday morning that she had a very aggressive brain cancer and that her fight was over.

Annika gave her a new life and helped her get down to half that weight over the last 3 years.

I was beyond grateful to be apart of her life for her last year. We ate tritip, went to the snow, played near the ocean, had lots of fun times at the park, and got to explore Oregon, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado!

Frannie was an internet sensation and was loved by millions of people! She gave a lot of people love, joy & inspiration.

I miss her so much. This was one of the hardest things I've had to go through. I'll see you again one day my sweet baby girl 🪽 by @stetsonswims

By far the easiest swim work you can do...

Swimming 5-6k yards is going to take 2+ hours for most middle of the pack swimmers

And new swimmers need to win the mental game when trying to accomplish distance swimming.

I HATED distance swimming, but now I love it. Trying to fun ways to trick your brain into sectioning up each set makes it easier all while your building down the workout.

A lot can change in 3 years 💪

3 years ago I was unhappy with myself in just about every way, including my fitness. I gained a lot of weight through the peak of my addiction, going from 190 to 240.

I made a pact that this year I would put fitness above all else. Despite moving home from San Diego and two inguinal hernia surgery's, I knew that Ironman Oceanside was something I had to do.

Well, I did it. It wasn't the race I wanted but nonetheless I am beyond proud of myself for crossing that line.

I had a great swim and finished 42nd in my age group pacing 1:29/100.

However I ran into many problems on the bike. I popped my tire at mile 10 and crashed. My tendinitis shot my knee at my 30 and I had to hold my knee the entire ride back, and then another slow tire leak.

The run was amazing, yet my IT band went out at mile 6😂

Oh well - I'm ready to rip the next one 🔥🔥🔥🔥
