Losing a pet is like losing a part of yourself. For the past year and a half, Jules faced her first major health challenge, yet I saw so much determination in her to keep going. At 19, the vet told us she was living on borrowed time. But Jess and I wanted to give her every chance to continue living her best life. Our world revolved around her.

Last night, we knew that borrowed time was coming to an end, and we held her close through her final moments.

She brought us immeasurable joy and happiness. She was truly a gift from God, and because of her, Jess and I became better people.

God bless you and your beautiful soul, Julie. I look forward to the day we see each other again. by @studio.c41

Tonight, seeing a film on the big screen in a sold out theater in front of peers, with my closest friends and dedicated cast and crew was one of the most incredible feelings I’ve ever felt. To see an idea that was developed from one’s mind, written to paper, shot on celluloid, and then presented and inviting an audience into that world is one of the most nerve wrecking feelings. It didn’t sink in until the name, “Our Father” showed up on the screen.

I am beyond grateful to every person that was involved in this project. Creating a film is a beautiful process if you are open to all of the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into making one. Creative differences, collaboration, negotiation, compromising, and most importantly trusting others through the process is what it makes it beautiful.

@woodlot_media , @boyfriendjames, @thatjamezguy, I learned so much from you all. I am so proud of the work we created.

@zoe.a.taylor, @atliennat, @kitkatpadoodle , @directortiz, @robiedu your artistic talent to set production is unrivaled and your team was the magic that transformed a basement in the west end of Atlanta into the hellish apocalypse that sends shivers down my spine.

The crew who lit this set and giving us pockets of light to make those shadows sing made this the darkest of worlds that would scare the holiest of people in their shoes. Thank you @brossboss @twodovesinspirational @andrewbyrd1.

Our camera crew delivered the most professional camera movements I’ve ever seen. Follow focusing at wide open apertures on a dimly lit set is no easy feat but you did it. Amazing work @wstewartfilms @online_justin.

Our talent @jonathan_ludwikowski and @boyfriendjames delivered incredible performances. 100’ of film required consistent rehearsal and delivered one shot wonders on every take.

Lastly, but not least, our post production crew. @meinhardtist delivered the most beautiful colors delivered from celluloid and @bryan_munnings brought it home adding layers and layers of sound design of every single brick that came tumbling down in this collapsing world.

So proud and thankful to every person that poured their hearts into this project.

Thank you. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @studio.c41

When @harmanphoto released Phoenix 200 in 35mm, the very next question was, “Will it come out in 120?” Well, just under a year, they’ve released it in medium format. The incredibly kind team at Harman asked if I could test a few rolls for them.

As you may recall, Phoenix 200 is an experimental color film which has some quirks with color conversion and a grainy structure. Releasing it in 120 gives a larger surface area for that grain to breathe. With a backing paper I do believe the halation is a little bit more controlled but still has that limited dynamic range between shadows and highlights; which was perfect for portraits under tree cover in complete shade.

I ran several test rolls through my Pentax 67 and digital camera scanned and converted using @negativelabpro . I am quite impressed with the results!

As always, congratulations to the Harman team! This is another accomplishment and another step towards your color film path. Thank you for including me and allowing me to test this film!

If you’ve done any work on celluloid, you know what a legend @the_filmlab_guy is. Andy travels the world installing, restoring, and building ECN-2 labs with @kodak_shootfilm. Kodak’s labs are processing record volumes, millions of feet of film a month, and his expertise keeps them running in top shape. He’s in Atlanta helping stand up the new facility for the next chapter of @kodakfilmlabatl. A walking legend. An absolute pleasure to finally meet you, Andy! 🎞️ taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @studio.c41

A sneak peek at @pocketmeter.pro v1.1! 👀

We’re almost at a month since PocketMeter Pro dropped in the App Store! A special thank you to everybody who purchased the app, shared it with friends, and even beta tested it. It’s continued success allows us to continue adding features and improving the app!

We have a lot of new features and small fixes coming out in v1.1.

- 1x and 2x zoom button. Closing down your field of view gives you a more accurate meter reading and you have full functionality in the deck like spot metering while zoomed in.

- Persistent settings memory. Have an ISO, Aperture, or shutter speed you’re locked into and you closed the app? Your settings will be locked into the next time you open the app.

-Spot metering indicated in the logged images. When you tap for a meter reading, the location of the tap is indicated in the logged image. by @studio.c41

I am humbled that @ourppa has invited me back to hold another class at @imagingusa 2027 in Charlotte, NC! Two years ago, I gave my first class, “Film Photography in the Digital Age,” where I shot a 4x5 portrait, then processed and scanned it in front of the entire class.

For 2027, it won’t be the same material. I will be bringing in my passion for motion picture and showing how to add Super 8 and 16mm to your workflow as a unique look for your clients. We will also go through the various still film formats and why film photography is still relevant in the photographic industry.

More details to come, but check out the link in my bio for the pre-con class! taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @studio.c41

Here’s a quick preview of the PocketMeter Pro tap-to-spot meter, which gives you an idea of the various exposures in your shot. When you find the exposure you want, tap LOG to save your image with its metadata in the caption. The caption includes your standard exposure information (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO), plus white balance, rangefinder distance, and geolocation with Apple Maps integration.

We’re diving into a small education series on how to get the most out of your experience with the PocketMeter Pro app! We start with its origin story. I hated having to remember how shutter angle translated to shutter speed, so I set out on this journey to solve that one problem: building a light meter app on my phone that gave me both shutter speed for stills and shutter angle for motion capture. For those who shoot both a stills camera and a motion picture film camera, like a Super 8 or 16mm, this meter will help you get the exact exposure for your frame. Then we briefly dive into reading a false color map so you know exactly what to expect from your exposure. by @studio.c41

PocketMeter Pro is now available on the @apple @appstore! This isn’t any ordinary light meter! PocketMeter Pro takes both cinematography and photography worlds and smashes them into a single app. Photographers have the tools to visualize their exposure with a tool cinematographers depend on, false color. Cinematographers have the ability to add ND into their light meter reading straight from the deck and so much more!

PocketMeter Pro releases from the @apple @appstore September 22, 2026 at 10:00 EDT! This app is the perfect light meter for photographers and cinematographers all together under one app. One of my absolute favorite features is false color. This feature, commonly used by cinematographers to visualize their exposure, is now accessible for photographers.

This is a HUGE benefit for film photographers. We’ve heard the saying, “Meter for your shadows,” “Meter for your Highlights,” or “Meter for your midtones.” Well, there’s no more guessing with false color. Know your exposure before you take the shot.

False color in its simplest form is a visualization of your exposure. Your purples and dark blacks represent your shadows. Green is your middle exposure, and the pink is where your light skintones would land. Then your light gray is highlights and your yellow/red is the top end of your highlights where you clip into pure white.
