ICE ice baby. I’ve been a bit frozen on this app but hey, I’m still doing things coolly and hopefully evenly paced. So I thought about my rules on how to defreeze the blocked channel.
Rule No. 1: keep on rolling. If the work output is blocked, opt for:
Rule No. 2: stop drop and keep on dancing. Till the blockage melts away, then keep on rolling. Start with rule No. 1. In case of overheating, continue with No. 3:
Rule No. 3: cool down, slow down, breathe. Just chill a bit. Feel all the feels. If you’re cooled down enough, continue with No. 1 or No. 2.

Posters never cease to amaze me. Here’s the final piece of the in-process post from earlier.
Posters speak to us, unlike loudspeakers, they’re not noisy or cranky, but still they reach us, get our attention through their unmoving voices. A poster is almost a thing from the past. Not animated, still, not shouting, not even enlightened. Not unlike books, they’re here to stay for now. Posters seem to have a moment of revival right now.

Much gratitude to anyone supporting me and my studio practice throughout the past year. I am grateful to be able to design posters for art and culture as a way of resisting an increasingly hostile environment for exactly these practices. As my practices and that of many cultural workers have gone through a lot of rearranging and making work, what is often seen as fundamentally non-essential work. It is essential, and at times, art, design, culture, may not just be life saving. It may be a way of thriving.

After prepping another work related slider post, which once again was swallowed by the IG abyss, I am now just dumping this November-December slide onto you. Enjoyyy 🫠

Reflecting back on the retrospective book designed for Jiro Kamata's jewellery with CMYK and silver prints showcasing his conceptual approach. It's hard to believe that this is only five years ago. Time has a different feel to it since a couple of years. @studio_jirokamata

Another view at this extensive new, 20+ years encompassing publication of Giacomo’s work. We edited it in a way that shows several of his most important themes over the years combined together in chapters. The hardcover gaze is printed on the inside and shining through to the exterior—analogous to his paintings that are sometimes placed in space, allowing for light to permeate the linen, and for the image to work from both sides.

I had the pleasure to design the new visuals for social media, the posters and flyer for the latest exhibition of Stadtgalerie Bern under the new direction of Eva-Maria Knüsel. The exhibition Super Bloom: Rhoda Davids Abel and Sergio Rojas Chaves is open 14 February till 12 April 2025.

This flyer has been printed in three brilliant colours and I’m here for it, the bloom, the flowers and the gentle power. 🌸🌺🌱💪🏼
