ICE ice baby. I’ve been a bit frozen on this app but hey, I’m still doing things coolly and hopefully evenly paced. So I thought about my rules on how to defreeze the blocked channel.
Rule No. 1: keep on rolling. If the work output is blocked, opt for:
Rule No. 2: stop drop and keep on dancing. Till the blockage melts away, then keep on rolling. Start with rule No. 1. In case of overheating, continue with No. 3:
Rule No. 3: cool down, slow down, breathe. Just chill a bit. Feel all the feels. If you’re cooled down enough, continue with No. 1 or No. 2.

tom was an exhibition communication for Stadtgalerie Bern that I designed for Nancy Lupo back in winter. Thanks to @eva_knuesel from the @stadtgalerie_bern.

Remember, ICE melts. Heat up the temp, and keep on rolling or dancing.

We’re not made to stand still.

Keep warm. Keep cool.

After prepping another work related slider post, which once again was swallowed by the IG abyss, I am now just dumping this November-December slide onto you. Enjoyyy 🫠

1) They said „t“ drawing for pronoun buttons for She said @shesaidbooks
2) Multi-screen nightly readings.
3) The conference I really desperately want to attend, and can’t.
4-6) Kisses and nails 💅🏼
7) Free G@ za
8) Studio appreciation
9) City appreciation
10) Giacomo’s piece next to One Piece. Accidental color scheme or an archetype? @giacomosantiagorogado
11-15) Nope, the boat, writing and resting on boats, researching near water
16-18) Best vegan dinner in Milano @lacolubrina and some sublime lunches at @radicetonda.milano, beautifully patchy grounds of existence, and a broken sense of futurity for and on my birthday. (Italian cuisine is now an UNESCO world heritage, of course it is.)
19) and, once again: NOPE, yours truly.

Posters never cease to amaze me. Here’s the final piece of the in-process post from earlier.
Posters speak to us, unlike loudspeakers, they’re not noisy or cranky, but still they reach us, get our attention through their unmoving voices. A poster is almost a thing from the past. Not animated, still, not shouting, not even enlightened. Not unlike books, they’re here to stay for now. Posters seem to have a moment of revival right now.

Thank you to the people who were involved in this spectacular end of year exhibition Kissing in my Subaru and the designs that went with it. Thanks of course to the team of Stadtgalerie Bern @stadtgalerie_bern, to both co-curators Eva-Maria Knüsel @eva_knuesel and @_lavender__june Alizé Rose-May for their trust in this typographical approach. Thanks to the whole team behind the Stadtgalerie.
Special thanks go also to the production team of @duo_d.art for the banging silk screen printed colours. Thank you to Jordi Druck for their work flyer printing. Thanks to all the steps and in-between in making this work possible.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes of the posters and flyers.

Much gratitude to anyone supporting me and my studio practice throughout the past year. I am grateful to be able to design posters for art and culture as a way of resisting an increasingly hostile environment for exactly these practices. As my practices and that of many cultural workers have gone through a lot of rearranging and making work, what is often seen as fundamentally non-essential work. It is essential, and at times, art, design, culture, may not just be life saving. It may be a way of thriving.

Reflecting back on the retrospective book designed for Jiro Kamata's jewellery with CMYK and silver prints showcasing his conceptual approach. It's hard to believe that this is only five years ago. Time has a different feel to it since a couple of years. @studio_jirokamata

Life/work/ apparently is still happening besides the layers of despair, shock, overwhelm, and other emotional states in times of disaster… Anyhow, here’s a long overdue glimpse into yet another round of thriving survival, and posters at my studio (with friends in front), a split sky over Bern, ripped poster collage in Basel, original artwork of Matheline Marmy, and the poster hanging at Stadtgalerie Bern. @stadtgalerie_bern

How to mend a broken connection? How to reclaim embodied creative practice in times of neoliberal notions of wellness as a self-optimisation tool and hyper-individualistic success aims?

Thank you all for your interest in thinking and sharing about reclaiming embodied creative practice last month. Hosted by @futuress_org and @brand_new_life_magazine, we were both online and in person @i_n_f_o_s_p_a_c_e.
