A woven pause beneath the sycamores trees. Two months since the The Nest was @fringebythesea

Interconnecting strands of jute creating a space of care.

An invitation to pause. To listen. To look. To feel.

Inspired by the 100,000 gannets of Bass Rock, The Nest emerged from a deep sense of awe in the preciousness and fragility of their world.

Soundscape Sula basana by @erlandcooper I feel lucky to be able to repeat listen. (Joy and a few tears every time).

The Dreaming : Althea Young
@althea_later_alligator

Summerhall : Edinburgh Fringe 2026

How do you justify bringing a child into this world?

When she was a teenager, she vowed she never would. Yet, when babies start appearing in her dreams, her resolve is challenged by a monstrous desire for a baby of her own. Channelling a wide array of personas and worlds, The Dreaming sees us lost between landscapes of fantasy and nightmare.
.
Here we seek answers to the questions:
- What drives us to create life?
- How do we grieve the futures the economic and climate crises have taken from us?
- What makes our lives meaningful?
.
Winner of the 2026 Autopsy Award.
.
Supported by Creative Scotland,
The Workroom, and Tramway.

Deep Listening to Deep Time at Pianodrome for the Scottish Geology Festival was out of this world 🪨

Thank you so much to the beauties that came along for this very special evening at the end of June held by myself, the inspiring Deep Listening practitioner Ruth Jacobs and the mesmerising artist and ceramicist Eleanor White.

Thank you so much to Pianodrome for letting this happen inside your incredible space, it couldn’t have been a better place to host this enchanting iteration.

Thank you also to the talented Ross Fraser McLean for tuning into the space so thoughtfully and getting some really beautiful photos of these magical happenings ✨

This event was part of an ongoing series of programming called Do Rocks Remember Lava? So do follow along for the next instalment, alternatively, if you are like me and prefer direct email reminders and want an exclusive invite to the next event before it’s announced publicly comment “ROCKS” bellow and I’ll add you to our mailing list of sound/art/geology lovers ❤️ or follow the link in my bio 🔗 taken in Montpelier Park by @studiororo
