Came for the apparatus. Stayed for everything around it. 🩶

It always starts the same way. One class, one reformer, one “let’s see how this goes.”

Then it’s the faces you start looking for. The outdoor events you didn’t plan on loving. A space that feels good the second you walk in. Instructors who know when to cue, when to push, and when to let you find it yourself.

The class is why you book. The rest is why you stay.

Weekend one of Mat X in OC was a success. 🩶

The Mat X Soft Opening Series kicked off at Studio X in Irvine (aka our new Mat studio in OC), and you showed up with your mats.

Mat X is the classical work, taught in a contemporary way. Push-pull opposition: your body generates its own resistance, no springs. It’s the same progressional method you know from the apparatus, applied to the mat.

Thank you to everyone who came through. We’re only getting started.

The Soft Opening Series is still going on...Every Saturday 9am, 10am, & 11am.

MEMBERS, book Mat X with your membership.

NEW HERE? The Soft Opening Pack gets you 5 classes for $149, good at IRVINE for 60 days.

Bring a mat. We’ll see you this weekend.

Book through the link in bio.

Sarah O. doesn’t just tell you what to do. She shows you first.

Every movement starts the same way: she demonstrates it slow and exact, so you can see where it begins, where it travels, and where it ends. Then she cues it so you can feel it.

Not “engage your core.” Cues you can actually use. Ribs knit down. Pelvis heavy. Reach through your heels like the spring is trying to take them. Language that gives your body a direction instead of a guessing game.

A demo shows you the shape. A cue shows you the feeling. Together, you stop copying a movement and start understanding it.

No squinting at the instructor across the room. No “wait, was I supposed to feel that there?”

Just you, the apparatus, and someone who makes the hard stuff look clear and feel doable.

You’ll always know what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and what it should feel like. That’s Sarah O. 🩶

Can’t wait to see you on the mat. by @studiox_oc

Alex remembers your name, your injury, and the exercise you’ve been avoiding. 👀

She learns how you move. Which shoulder creeps up when you get tired, which side takes over when you’re not paying attention. Then she walks over and fixes it.

A hand on your hip to find the right alignment. Two fingers on your ribs to remind you where your breath goes. A correction that lands before you’ve even felt the wobble. Touch tells your body what words can’t, and she knows exactly where to put it.

But what makes it work is that she’s invested in you. She asks about your week.

She notices when you’re having an off day and when you’re having a breakthrough. She’ll make you laugh and then fix your form in the same breath.

No guessing if it’s right. No feeling like a face in the crowd.

Just you, the apparatus, and an instructor who actually knows who she’s teaching.

First rep to last, Alex is with you. 🩶

An album of selfies is just storage. This one is a community.

Mirror selfies after class. Someone’s arm around someone else’s shoulder. The same four faces showing up in different classes, different weeks, different outfits.

That’s not just a folder. That’s not just “cute content.”

This is the album we open when we want to remember why we do this. The post-class glow. The “wait, send me that one.” The people who became a community because they kept showing up to the same room.

We build the classes. We map the progressions. We design every rep to get you stronger than you were last week.

But what actually fills the album?

You.

Today is Mental Health Day. Your reminder: you don’t have to show up with it all together.

Show up tired. Show up with the long week still on your shoulders. Let the first rep be the only thing you have to figure out.

We can’t promise a class fixes everything. We can promise someone at the front desk knows your name, someone in the room is rooting for you, and nobody is keeping score.

That’s this community. People who check in on each other, make space for each other, and come back because the room feels good.

We love who you are in here. And who you are outside of it.🩶
