Yesterday marked 10 years married to my love @carlosmorgadomusic 🥹🧡 and also almost 10 years since we moved to London! This has been a journey filled with the purest love, endless laughter, and also with challenges that we keep overcoming and have made our bond even stronger.

Marriage is a wonderful and also tough school, one that for sure teaches you some of the most important lessons in life. I’m so grateful that we met almost 20 years ago, that I was the first face that popped up when you joined MySpace, that you stalked me (lol), that I trusted my gut, and that since then we get to do this crazy thing called life together! I LOVE YOU🥰

Even as an introverted person, passion was always louder than my fear. You don’t need to feel 100% confident to be visible. In fact, confidence often comes after you take the first step, not being sure how it’ll go.

There have been moments where other people (especially men in the industry) have tried to make me feel less than, either because I didn’t have the newest camera, or because I couldn’t open a boom stand by my myself (I’m just a girl💅🏼). And in moments of doubt, I always focused on my passion for art and the value I was already providing to my clients.

Your visibility should never be conditioned by what others say, because, more often than not, those who try to belittle you are precisely perceiving you as better than them, even if that’s not what you think or intend.

May this be your sign to take all the space that you need to create a life you truly enjoy living🧡

The “tea” I promised you guys ☕️ and a little more context that I couldn’t fit into the reel:

When my photos were first published without credit, I let it go and simply asked that if it happened again, my work was properly credited.

When she told me I couldn’t ask her that because she wouldn’t remember, I explained that if credit couldn’t be guaranteed, she could no longer license my images to third-party publications. She was still free to use them for her website, social media, speaking events and marketing (as I told her initially)… Just not for third parties that would profit from my work. She was sooo annoyed 😵

When she posted a comparison between my photos and a new photoshoot, suggesting my work didn’t reflect who she really was (even though I’d created exactly what she’d asked for, and she was in love with the photos), I asked her to remove my tag as it was so unfair. She did, and proceeded to unfollow me - then block me.

After almost 20 years as a photographer, you’d think I’d know better… But every now and then, I still choose trust over caution and ignore that little voice telling me to be more careful🫣

This experience reminded me that boundaries aren’t unkind, they’re professional, and that friendship and business only work when there’s mutual respect.

If you’ve ever been in a similar situation, please remember that being friends doesn’t mean your work should be valued less. If anything, it should be valued more. 🧡

The day before my MRI, I made a choice.
Cancer is a word that changes you forever. Even when you’re told you’re clear, and you continue living your life with more gratitude and intention than ever before, every follow-up can bring you back to the moment you first heard that word.

I first noticed that feeling at my very first check-up after surgery. Deep down, I truly believed everything was going to be okay… but there was still that tiny voice whispering “what if?”. And no matter how positive you are, I think that’s just human.

Over the past two years, I’ve done a lot of inner work to choose which thoughts deserve my attention and which ones are simply noise. Because not everything we think is true.

So this time, I chose to believe that everything would be okay and I refused to let fear steal a day that was perfectly beautiful and was there for me to enjoy.

After all, most of what we worry about never happens.

*A prelude to the tea I promised ☕️*

One thing photography has taught me over the years is that you can’t build a career by avoiding uncomfortable situations…

At first, I thought that changing who I worked with would bring me closer to the perfect, magical career I had imagined. But, over time, I realised that every environment comes with its own challenges, especially when your work revolves around people and human relationships.

The real growth for me came from learning how to handle different personalities, setting boundaries, being assertive, and staying true to myself regardless of the situation.

Learning this has been far more valuable than anything technical I’ve learned behind the camera 📸

It’s been slightly over 10 years since I had decided to switch to photographing only women, and now that I’m older and wiser, I think I’m ready to bring back men in front of my lens again✨ taken in London, United Kingdom by @sturlese

Michael Jackson has always been a huge source of inspiration to me (and literally the entire world). Since my early 20s, I’ve worked to all kinds of music while drawing, shooting or editing, but I always found myself coming back to MJ. His music just puts me in a different kind of flow… and watching his film sparked that inspiration all over again🙌🏼

I’m a creative perfectionist (Pisces with Virgo rising - like him, just flipped), and even though perfectionism gets a bad rap, he has reminded me (once again) what a gift it really is.

And honestly, I also feel like there’s something deeper happening around Michael right now. Almost like this whole Michael movement resurfacing now isn’t random… It feels like his presence, his energy and his message are becoming more present again because this is a time where the world needs extra love🫂

I know some people will think that sounds strange, but I genuinely feel like, energetically, he’s still moving threads somehow. Like he came back to help *heal the world*🧡

His art carried so much sensitivity, humanity and emotional depth, and I think that’s exactly what people are craving right now.
