Starting over isn't always about rebuilding what you lost. Sometimes it's about becoming who you were created to be.

✨️You need courage to begin, resilience to endure, and faith to continue.

🌻 Out with the old, in with the new! Celebrate good times 🎊. Sunflower Z's Healing Garden is open and accepting new clients.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Boy was it a journey to get here, I couldn't have done it alone, God carried and guided me and my family and friends supported me💕.

I want to share about 3 things I've learned on my journey Starting Over and trusting God's plan for my life.

The third and most important to me thing that you need when starting over is....

3. COURAGE

🌻October's Mantra: Out with the old, in with the new!

The fall invites us into a intentional period of shedding. Allowing the old leaves (beliefs, narratives, patterns) to fall to make space for the new.

This is a great time to reflect on what are you intentionally leaving behind this season and welcoming in your next season?

🌻✨ What's makes me happy? Facilitating educational experiences that feel like more than a workshop and more like sacred community care.

As I transformed Sunflower Z’s Healing Garden for our first Community Care Suicide Prevention Workshop, I was reminded that healing doesn’t only happen in therapy rooms it happens in community, in safe spaces, and in moments when people feel seen, heard, and supported.

Cleaning and transforming Sunflower Z's Healing Garden was healing for me. Cleansing out the old and welcoming the new beginnings.

My prayer was that everyone who walked through these doors would feel warmth, safety, and permission to be vulnerable. A space where we could have honest conversations about the things we’re often afraid to say out loud.

And that’s exactly what happened. 💛

The community showed up with open hearts, asked questions, shared, learned, and gained tools to better support someone experiencing suicidal thoughts.

This is one of the visions God placed on my heart for Sunflower Z's Healing Garden: a place where education meets compassion, vulnerability is welcomed, and healing happens in community. 🌻

🌻FROM AWARENESS TO ACTION 🌻

What a powerful time of learning, reflecting, and growing together!

I had the opportunity to facilitate a Trauma-Responsive Anti-Bias Training for School Social Workers from all over Louisiana. We went beyond simply talking about different forms of implicit bias, we explored what it takes to actually interrupt it in our practice and engagement with students and colleagues.

We examined how bias can show up in the ways we interpret student behavior, document concerns, make referrals, respond to discipline, engage families, and make ethical decisions.

🤱🏾I'm grateful for the opportunity to speak about maternal mental health and the importance of caring for the mother this weekend @babycatcherbirthcenter Birth Expo in honor of birth center week. 💛

Maternal mental health can look like anxiety, depression, overwhelm, rage, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, grief, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself.

My reminder to every mama: You deserve care, too. You deserve rest. You deserve safe space to be heard and supported.
