Meet 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆, part of Romanian Art Week 2026.

Founded in Bucharest in 2015, SUPRAINFINIT Gallery takes its name from the utopian, pluralistic universe imagined by the artist collective Apparatus 22. Dedicated to conceptual art practices from Eastern and Central Europe, the gallery works with emerging, mid-career and established artists, with a strong focus on newly commissioned works and large-scale installations.

Since relocating to the Combinatul Fondului Plastic complex, the gallery has continued to engage local and international audiences across a wide range of media, while also extending its programme through SEQUENCE, a vitrine programme at its second space in the Mântuleasa neighbourhood.

As part of Romanian Art Week 2026, SUPRAINFINIT Gallery joins museums, galleries and independent spaces across Romania in opening new ways to discover the contemporary art scene.

This autumn, SUPRAINFINIT Gallery presents “Taină” by Paulo Wirz, curated by Paolo Baggi.

Through solitary and grouped brass figures, velvet-coated panels and recurring symbols, the exhibition develops a visual language around ritual, belief and the act of assigning meaning. Heads, hands, feet, bottles and fruits become recurring elements, while red threads, perforations and constellation-like structures suggest systems of connection and decoding.

“Taină” unfolds through transitions, accumulations and reconfigurations, exploring how symbols and elements of ritual shift, adapt and acquire new meanings over time.

Discover “Taină” during Romanian Art Week 2026.

PAULO WIRZ — TAINĂ
Text by: Paolo Baggi

Opening Saturday, October 17 | 6 PM

We are delighted to invite you to the opening of Taină, a solo exhibition by Paulo Wirz, followed by the Romanian Art Week Opening Party.

Between the sacred and the mundane, the visible and the invisible, Taină unfolds as a constellation of symbols, rituals, and hidden meanings.

Through intricate brass figures, fragmented bodies, and enigmatic pictograms, Paulo Wirz constructs a visual language where ancient belief systems meet contemporary codes. Each element becomes part of an unfolding ritual, a meditation on transformation, collective memory, and our enduring desire to give meaning to the unknown.

Like a musical score waiting to be deciphered, Taină invites us to discover connections, trace invisible energies, and explore the space between what we see and what we believe.

Join us for an evening of art, encounters, and celebration of the Romanian Art Week together.

At @offscreen_paris, @koltsovadarya presents “The Kiosk” (2024) and “Postcards from Home” (2023 – 2026)— a found kiosk whose windows and racks are filled with stained-glass « postcards, » each depicting a landscape on the edge of extinction.

Kiosks, ubiquitous during the artist’s childhood, formed casual meeting places of everyday life. They have gradually disappeared. Found in a junkyard and displaced into the exhibition space, the kiosk becomes an architectural remnant of the lost world, a repository for memory.

Stained-glass landscapes depict Ukrainian ecosystems threatened by war. They are based on photographs or reimagined based on memories shared by interviewers. Landscapes are simplified to the compositions of stripes and colours, a visual code, yet recognisable to those who belonged there.

What is a postcard, if not a portable fragment of land that can be saved and shared, a fragments of home that may no longer be possible to return, neither leave completely.

🤝 Presented by @suprainfinit
-

Paulo Wirz casts the eye as both relic and prosthesis, with
bronze turning the act of looking into an object removed from
its bearer. The analogy between open or closed eyes and the
inner and outer self emerges as both obvious and powerful.
This reading does not exclude more complex interpretations
of the poetic gaze, such as Baudelaire’s passer-by, the
complicit wink, or the impersonal stare of surveillance
cameras. Good or evil eye, mirror of the soul, gaze that kills
in popular songs or in the myth of the Gorgon, the possible
interpretations are multiple. As thresholds and passages,
these open or closed eyes can also be read as memento mori

Congratulations to @rebekka.ana.aimee for her diploma show!

Rebekka Ana Aimée (born 1995, Berlin) lives and works in Berlin and Dusseldorf. She studied Fine Arts at Brunswick University of the Arts and Kunstakademie Dusseldorf. Hovering over the large sheets of unstretched canvases, Rebekka Stuhlemer’s paintings are portals that connect bodily and environmental realms, that channel movement and colours in complex and intuitive compositions. Her works are fugitive, fragmented, corporeal, they cross-contaminate and self-distance. Their infused movement sparks a soft level of animism that is carried along by the gaze of the viewer. by @suprainfinitgallery

Performance Variations part I and part II

📍Suprainfinit Combinat & Sector 1 Gallery, Băiculești

Thrilled to have hosted this performantive project by Adriana Gheorghe💫

After the blue rain, Theatres and artist Adriana Gheorghe invite you for a programme in two parts around language, mostly verbal, and the multiple ways it can become embodied and for a reflection on what this does to meaning and to what is needed from art now. And to see the blue mountains.
Languages recognisable from different mediums – poetry, philosophy, music, dance, visual art – all can be embodied and become art and performance – both belonging and not belonging to their respective fields. And they acquire an unbearable ‘open ended trust’ in how frontal or oblique words need to be to become gestures in reality and in what kind of realities they produce or how it is sensed in the body.
We invite you to variations of choreographed attention and modes of encounter by means of uses of language that do not represent but embody the space of love, making it corporeal, allowing us to be in the process of saying something that is not already dead or dying.

New works by Klara Zetterholm @temnikovakaselagallery

Klara Zetterholm (b. 1991 in Stockholm) lives and works in Stockholm. She graduated from the Royal Institute of Art in 2022. Working across sculpture, décor painting, installation, and assemblage, her recent practice focuses on bas-reliefs that mimic and forge materials and histories through patina and motifs. With a background in scenography and prop-making, Zetterholm employs techniques from stage
and set design to construct fictional narratives that echo archeological and natural history displays.
Her work engages with notions of non-linear time, mythology, and human evolution, often conjuring a sense of uncanniness and negotiating binaries such as the ultramodern and the prehistoric, the prosperous and the apocalyptic.
