From Fan Fest to the front lines of care. 🏀

The Sacramento Kings spirit kept going at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, where Kings legend @mike_bibby_10, Slamson and the Kings Dancers stopped by to surprise our care teams and patients.

Along the way, they delivered cards and Kings-themed bracelets made at Fan Fest, bringing a little purple-and-black pride from the celebration straight to our hospital.

Catching that Fan Fest feeling, with an assist from Sacramento Kings Head Coach Doug Christie!

We kicked off @sacramentokings Fan Fest with approximately 100 local kids taking part in a Jr. Kings youth combine and wellness experience at Golden 1 Center. Jr. Kings coaches led the basketball drills while Sutter Health physicians, physical therapists and dietitians helped kids learn about movement, nutrition, injury prevention and healthy habits.

The fun continued at Fan Fest, presented by Sutter Health, where fans got an early look at the Kings and stopped by the Sutter station to make bracelets and write messages of encouragement for patients.

More care, closer to home for Tri-Valley families! 💙

Sutter Health recently celebrated the opening of its new Pleasanton Care Complex, a 64,000-square-foot facility bringing a wide range of specialty services together under one roof.

From orthopedics and gastroenterology to ophthalmology, urology, imaging and more, the new complex is designed to make care more convenient, connected and accessible for patients and families. An ambulatory surgery center is also expected to open in January 2027.

Thank you to the Sutter teams, community leaders and everyone who helped bring this new space to life! Together, we're expanding access to high-quality, coordinated care closer to where patients live and work. 🎉

When Vicky Pan was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, she found herself facing a future she never imagined. Six months of chemotherapy took her hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes and, at times, left her feeling as though she was losing her sense of self. She then turned to Sutter's Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for help. There, she underwent a newly cleared single-port robotic nipple-sparing procedure designed to help preserve nipple and breast sensation, allowing her to hold onto an important part of herself throughout her cancer journey.

A new chapter for primary care in Vallejo. 💙

Sutter Health recently marked the expansion of the Vallejo Primary Care Center with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The celebration was especially meaningful for Vallejo Vice Mayor JR Matulac, who has visited this location for more than a decade to see his Sutter Medical Group primary care physician, Dr. Sean Hennessey. Matulac shared how Dr. Hennessey’s care and guidance have helped him manage his health over the years.

It was a powerful reminder of what primary care is all about: helping patients stay well and building lasting relationships rooted in trust.

A @49ers win and an unforgettable day for some special members of the Faithful! 🏈

During Sunday's Crucial Catch game, cancer warriors from Sutter's CPMC took center stage at Levi's Stadium. After recently participating in a 49ers art therapy event where they designed custom Levi's jackets alongside players, they were reunited on game day to receive their finished jackets, walk the red carpet during player arrivals and be recognized on the field before kickoff.

The celebration continued throughout the stadium. A collaborative mural designed by CPMC patient and artist Vincent Serritella was on display for fans to view and sign, showcasing the contributions of cancer warriors, 49ers players and Sutter caregivers who helped bring the project to life. Vincent Serritella was also recognized on the field alongside his physician, Dr. Akanksha Sharma.

Sutter's Mobile Mammography Van was part of the pregame fan experience, helping raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening, while Amanda Campo, an SMCS ICU nurse, was honored as the Frontline Hero of the Game.

Congratulations to the 49ers on the win and thank you for helping shine a spotlight on the patients, caregivers and care teams at the heart of Crucial Catch.

Palliative care is about helping people live as well as possible for as long as possible, with care centered on what matters most to them. 💙

For Craig Whitley, who lived with cystic fibrosis, that meant staying independent, spending time with loved ones and continuing to garden and cook.

Through Sutter Health’s Palliative Care and Support Services, Craig worked with an interdisciplinary team from Sutter East Bay Medical Group that helped manage his anxiety and breathlessness while supporting his goals and wishes for his care.

“He wanted to be able to cook and garden,” said his husband, David. “The care he received gave him several more months to enjoy the things he loved.”

Palliative care couldn’t change the course of Craig’s illness, but it gave him greater comfort and control while creating more time and space for the people and experiences that mattered most.
