The Crucible is at Decompression at The Loom, Saturday Oct 17th.

We’re bringing fire to the party with molten metal pouring, live glassblowing, and blacksmithing.

See the kind of hands-on artistry that makes the burner world turn, and many of skills that builds art on the playa and BRC.

Find us, gather around, and celebrate the intersection of creativity, community, and controlled chaos.🔥

It takes a village! What an honor it has been to gift you the Temple of the Moon. Truly a labor of love.

I’ve always been comforted by the quote about how grief is love with nowhere to go, and the temple gives it a physical space to inhabit and be released.

So many of you have asked how it feels to see something we spent thousands of hours building finally burn: we wouldn’t have it any other way. That is the purpose of the temple. And while it is an enormous gift of time and energy for us to give, the real gift is to us builders, who have the pleasure of helping others work through grief and create an unforgettable community in the process. Thank you for the opportunity to give this, the pleasure was all ours.

Enormous gratitude to everyone involved, not limited to:

Lead Artist: James ‘Stretch Goal’ Gwertzman
Architect: Annie Locke ‘missChief’ Scherer
Project Managers: Erin ‘Muffinz’ O’Brien & Daphne Faulkner
Build Lead: Tim Priest
Pre-Build Co-Leads: Sarah McManus & Eric ‘Boots’ Herrmann
Playa Co-Leads: Peter Garber & Bobby Bowie
Engineering: Rbhu
Lighting: Kama Wybialska & Dania Morris

Everyone who came by to help in Oakland and on site, we could not have done this without you! Until next time 🖖🏻 )’(
