POSTS STORIES REELS

More than two decades ago, my late father, Jack Essim, wrote a book that challenged the global narratives surrounding Africa, foreign influence, governance, and the true cost of resource extraction.

Today, many of the issues he wrote about are no longer viewed as fringe discussions…they are front-page headlines.

After being unavailable for years, Eyes of Sacrifice: The Massacre of Africa is now available again as an e-book.

This isn’t just a book about Africa’s past.

It’s a conversation about sovereignty, leadership, economics, international relations, and the choices that continue to shape the continent’s future.

As his daughter, bringing this work back to life is deeply personal. I hope a new generation of readers, scholars, professionals, and members of the African diaspora will engage with his ideas, challenge them, debate them, and continue the conversation.

Knowledge endures when it is shared.

📖 The e-book is now available.

The Indomitable Lionesses are WAFCON CHAMPIONS for the first time EVER! 😭🔥

After years of coming close, Cameroon finally got it DONE — and in style. A 3–0 victory over Malawi in the final. What a moment for Cameroonian football and for African women’s football. 👏🏾

“When I say let me talk to my team”… please respect our internal processes. 😂

There are several departments involved: me, Claude Code, my laptop, and 3 coffees.

We’ll circle back shortly. ☕️💻

If you want to learn how to use Claude to run your business too, I have guides on my website to get you started! The link is in the bio ✨

Throwback to 2017… when I made this dress myself. 🥹

I taught myself how to sew by watching YouTube videos, starting with little dresses for my daughter using fabric my mom gave me. Eventually, I started making things for myself. 🎉

This dress was inspired by the photo on slide 2. I still remember buying the fabric from JoAnn Fabrics and wearing it to a wedding.🤗

After that, people started asking me to make dresses for them… even wedding dresses. 🫪👀😂

The problem? I was literally still learning! 🤦🏾‍♀️ One woman insisted I make her a dress and even gave me beautiful, expensive fabric. I tried to warn her that I didn’t even know how to properly take measurements.

Long story short… I butchered that dress. 😭

After that, I stopped sharing my work and eventually stopped sewing altogether.😞

It was just a hobby I loved, and somewhere along the way, other people’s expectations ruined the fun for me.

Sometimes, just let people be beginners. Let them enjoy their hobbies without immediately turning their talent into a business.

Not everything you’re good at needs to become a service. ❤️

Today is more than just a date on the calendar.

As someone who is half Congolese, with my roots tracing back to Kasai through my mother, this day carries a special place in my heart.

On June 30, 1960, the Democratic Republic of the Congo reclaimed its independence and took its place among the free nations of the world. Sixty-six years later, we honor the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of those who fought for that freedom.

Today, I celebrate the beauty of our people, our culture, our strength, and the hope that future generations will inherit a nation that continues to rise.

Happy Independence Day to every Congolese, at home and across the diaspora.

Vive la RDC. 🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩❤️💙💛
