POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In Iran, my friends are forced to make their art underground. Now, with the internet shutdowns, they barely have a voice anymore and they can’t even share their music with the world.

In this set, I made sure to play new music from my friends back home who don’t have an outlet right now. I’d really appreciate it if you could support them if you connect with the music ❤️

Tagging my friends as well as the other artists I played in this post. I have some of my unreleased songs in here too. You can watch/listen back fully on The Lot Radio’s site and SoundCloud ✌️

11Schnull & Newinfluenzer – Ich und meine Ubahn – TURBO 245D @11schnull @newinfluenzer @turborecordings

two years ago my friends @newinfluenzer and @11schnull released the track “ich und meine ubahn”.
shortly after, @tiga reached out to me and asked me for my favorite tracks at the time. i sent him this one.

this year @turborecordings is releasing a remix ep of the original.
featuring @extrawelt, @donmatiasaguayo, architectural, krampf and myself and i’m glad to be part of the release and to give the track a robotic and aggressive touch 🤖🎸🦇
i’m happy with the result and also to see my loved ones grow and keep pushing 🤍

enjoy

Here’s something a little different.. Happy that @tiga asked us to remix our fellow Hamburger „11Schnull feat Newinfluenzer - Ich und meine Ubahn“. We had good fun exploring it and came up with two different remixes. Both are out now on @turborecordings on all digital platforms and one is featured on the vinyl that you can pre-order for example on Turbo’s Bandcamp. Link in bio. Cheers!

PS: In case you are not into the vocal there will be two instrumental versions coming exclusively on our bandcamp a bit later.

When you love a record too damn much, you will soon discover whether you “got what it takes” to make it yours. Such is the case with Turbo label head @tiga , who has played @11schnull & @newinfluenzer 2023 underground hit “Ich und meine Ubahn” in each and every one of his DJ sets since its non-Turbo release. But unbridled track-passion is not always enough, and sometimes one must take a step back and recognize that the music business is also a business. So our in-house Corporate Development team, which has of late been entirely focused* on figuring out how best to monetize Tintin entering the public domain, set to work, successfully licensing the original while also creating the fun and potentially life-saving opportunity to visualize just how amicable the licensing process was.

All of which brings us to the remix pack at hand. The essentially perfect electro programming and vocal performance of the 2023 original leaves virtually no angle for improvement, save for the fact that the 4:20 runtime not enough for the median touring DJ to satisfy their chatbot mistress before they must begin the exacting work of selecting and mixing the next track. As such, we enlisted producers who could interpret the song from different planes of existence.

German aesthetes @extrawelt provide a two-pack of their usual mastery, one for the digital heads + one for the vinyl dorks.

[1/2] Last year, I had the chance to present my bachelor project „Designing Soundscapes“ at @zeitistknapp.bln in Berlin and @locke20359 in Hamburg.

„Designing Soundscapes“ is an experimental exploration of the complexities involved in notating and interpreting electronic music. Unlike traditional music genres, electronic music often leaves listeners curious about how each unique sound is created due to the vast array of possibilities for sound generation. This project aimed to shed light on this process through a visual interpretation of forms of electronic music.

The research resulted in a modular graphic system, which I used to design three different representations. These graphics - along with a legend and some explanations - were shared with six music producers, who each reinterpreted them in their own musical language. The result: six unique tracks reflecting individual creative approaches to translating visual information into sound.

Works by DJ Mell G, Viikatory, F#X, Loi, Henry Baxmann and 11Schnull were featured in the exhibition, offering insights into the intersection of visual art and electronic music.

Big thanks to all artists - and especially DJ Mell G for the incredible support throughout the process, from tech help to creative feedback and more ❤️

You can listen to the sound snippets via the link in my bio.
