@ghassanabusittahchildtensfund

This Fund is dedicated to the children of Gaza: providing medical attention to the children who need it the most and helping to relieve the medical sector in Gaza and Lebanon.

The first initiative for the Fund, under the expert guidance of Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, is the transportation of critically injured children with their caretakers from Palestine to Lebanon, where they can receive the best possible medical, psychological, and social care, before returning home to Palestine where they will continue their recovery.

By treating the children in Lebanon, we not only offer them exceptional care and access to top medical advances, but also help to relieve the medical sector in Gaza & The Occupied Territories.
The second initiative of the Fund is the treatment and holistic care of children in Lebanon with war injuries. Your support will bring vital medical care to those who need it urgently, help relieve Gaza’s fragile medical sector, and pave the way for a brighter future for these children.

This is the 3rd to last screening for a bit so make sure to share with every friend of yours in NYC. Treat this event like a birthday party, or substitute it with your other movie plans. I’m promise I’m here to keep you entertained, but more importantly I’m here to fundraise for

🎞️「CAPS島民生活三部曲 / Life on the CAPS - Trilogy」被迫留下的人：當邊界決定誰能成為島民

Somewhere between the surreal and the deeply personal, BOUCHRA (Orian Barki, Meriem Bennani, 2025) finds beauty in the spaces between memory, identity, and belonging.

In 'Bouchra', Meriem Bennani's first feature, co-directed with Orian Barki, the heroine is a coyote. She's also Moroccan, queer, and deeply human, and the film never asks us to choose just one. By using anthropomorphic animals, Bennani and Barki show how identity and gender can't be pulled apart: each one shapes the other.

Writer and Editor Sami Abd Elbaki looks at how the film builds a portrait of queer Arab identity that refuses to be reduced to a single label.

Find your way into one of the louder corners of ‘Nervetråde’ and spend some time with 2 Lizards in Meriem Bennani and Orian Barki’s eight-episode video work of the same name.

‘2 Lizards’ (2020), made under quarantine and originally posted to Instagram, were viral hits seen by people far beyond the art world. The artists voice two animated lizard characters who wryly comment on the claustrophobia, boredom, and novelty of lockdown life. The series balances intimacy and humor, finding solace in the surprising and quirky human behavior that emerged under isolation and duress. As it progresses, the characters express an increasing sense of despair at the scale of global death and suffering. Blending absurdity and mournfulness, 2 Lizards suggests that one way to cope with strange times is to become strange.

‘Nervetråde’ is on view until 01.11.26.

Nine years ago, Bouchra came out to her mother in a letter. They still haven't really talked about it.

'Bouchra' is Meriem Bennani's intimate first feature, co-directed by Orian Barki. Its heroine, a coyote filmmaker in New York, is stuck writing a script about her mother in Casablanca and the conversation they keep avoiding.

The two have more in common than their silence suggests. Will they find their way back to each other?
In our latest review, writer and editor Sami Abd Elbaki unpacks the many layers of a disarmingly honest film, and asks how much an animated queer Moroccan character can get away with.
