🏆 ISLAND ICONS HONOREES: THE ARMSTRONG-COMMISSIONG FAMILY 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦✨

We’re thrilled to announce the Armstrong-Commissiong Family 🇹🇹 as official Honorees at Island Icons Honors 2026!

Their story began at Howard University, where @_nicolecommissiong of Marabella, Trinidad and Tobago, met Darnell Armstrong ( @engineerczar ) of Brooklyn, New York. Grounded in faith, education, and service, they turned a shared ambition into a family tradition of leadership and impact. Together they lead Dynamic Service Solutions (DSS), Darnell as President and CEO and Nicole as Co-founder and COO, building a formidable enterprise of 500+ employees specializing in engineering, emergency management, and project management.

Nicole extends that impact as Executive Director of the Armstrong-Commissiong Family Foundation and through her @ttguardian column, Living Well On Purpose. The next generation carries the legacy forward: award-winning filmmaker Sea Armstrong ( @sea.etc )founded the independent film studio Ancient Well Productions, Simon Armstrong co-founded Yatts to bring innovation to the creative economy, and Sampson Armstrong III ( @sampson_ ) serves as CFO across all family entities and leads the development of their Family Office. They are a true testament to a legacy measured in lives uplifted, barriers removed, and doors opened for those who follow.

This November, during National Entrepreneurship Month, we celebrate a family whose Caribbean roots and commitment to purpose continue to build generational impact. 🇹🇹🖤

Join us. Tickets are at link in bio.

Legacy isn’t just what you leave behind, it’s what you LIVE right now. 🙌🏽

Nicole dropped a gem on this week’s episode: As Marriagepreneurs, we can get so focused on what we’re building to pass down that we forget to enjoy what we’re building together TODAY.

Build the business. Create the wealth. Make the impact. But also take the trip, celebrate the wins, love each other well, and LIVE the legacy. ❤️

Because legacy isn’t only about what they inherit—it’s about what they witness.

FULL EPISODE on YouTube Channel!

#We LOVE that you planned the date night, husbands… we really do! 👏🏾❤️

But sir… WHERE are we going?! 😂

Because “Be ready at 7” does not tell us if we need heels or sneakers, a little black dress or cute & casual, indoor seating or a patio with a 20-degree wind chill! 😩

The ladies agree: Keep the surprise… just give us enough information to get the assignment right! 😂

Because even the sweetest gestures work better with a little COMMUNICATION. And that goes for date night, marriage AND business. 😉

So husbands, plan the date. Surprise your wife. Just give her the dress code! 😂

Ladies, are you okay with a TOTAL surprise date night—or do you need the DETAILS? 👇🏾

I wanted to do a voice over and I had another thing drafted for a caption but I think the video speaks for itself.

This is a little bit of what the experience is like when working with me. It’s a genuine handshake of being a kind human and attentive to others, becoming a part of the moment not just capturing it. I just hope my work pleases God. 🙏🏾

Massive appreciation to @caribbiznetwork @eminaenetwork @iamnicolegrimes and @kylesellsbiz for trusting me with the opportunity of capturing inaugural moments of the @legacy100brunch

Legacy is not only what you build. It is what becomes Blackjack possible for other people because you built it.

That feeling stayed with me throughout the inaugural @legacy100brunch.

The room was filled with Black and Caribbean leaders who have spent years building businesses, shaping industries, creating opportunities and making space for others.

Legacy can be found in the company someone built, the doors they opened, the people they employed, the culture they protected and the path they made easier for someone coming behind them.

It was an honor to serve as host and help celebrate Malik Yoba, David P. A. Mullings, Yvette Noel-Schure, Stasha Harris, Stanfort J. Perry, Sue Ann Tannis, Bert Lurch, Jessica Johnson-Cope, Michael Nicholas and Nicole Nicholas.

I was proud to have @melandnmedia stand behind this inaugural celebration as a Legacy Ally Sponsor.

Congratulations to @eminaenetwork and @caribbiznetwork for creating a space to recognize these remarkable leaders, and to every honoree. May what you have built continue to create possibilities for generations to come.
