Fernando Valencia, a 29-year-old voice artist from Cusco, Peru, is an Indigenous activist, painter, and devoted single father. Known for his ability to voice multiple characters, he launched Quechua Clips—a viral project that reimagines iconic animated scenes in Quechua, the ancestral language of the Incas, also known as Runa Simi.
After millions of Quechua speakers respond to the project, Fernando sets his sights on an ambitious dream: to dub Disney’s 1994 classic The Lion King into Quechua with the help of his eight-year-old son, Dylan.
Armed with a homemade studio and relentless resolve, Fernando faces rejection, setbacks, and self-doubt as his personal mission becomes a powerful call for language justice and cultural reclamation.

At CineFest Latino Boston, the experience doesn’t end when the credits roll.

One of the most special parts of watching a film at a festival is getting to hear directly from the people who brought that story to the screen. Throughout CineFest 2026, filmmakers, directors, actors, and film subjects will join us for post-screening Q&As—some in person and others virtually—to take you behind the scenes of their work.

You’ll get to hear about where these stories came from, how they were made, the challenges and decisions behind them, and the experiences that shaped what you’ve just watched. And, of course, you’ll have the chance to ask your own questions.

It’s something you simply don’t get from watching a movie at home—and a big part of what makes the festival experience so special.

👉 Swipe to discover this year’s feature film Q&As and who you’ll get to hear from.

🎟️ Explore the full program and get your tickets at cinefestlatino.com or through the link in our bio.
