Our 364th weekly Reader’s Rig comes from Andrei (@a4d3e) in Helsinki, Finland, a new dad who shares the mid-90s Marin Pine Mountain he pieced together to haul his kid around town and on overnighters into the surrounding countryside. Meet Andrei and see his latest build at Bikepacking.com/rr

Our buddy @a4d3e recently became a proud dad. Obviously that’s an opportunity to build a new bike! He assembled a 1994 Pine Mountain into a parent workhorse bike, and we love it! .

Versatility shows up in the small ways. You don’t dress for one moment of the day, you dress for all of them. Layers that work together and stand on their own when the time comes.

Field-tested tops built for the in-between, dependable from first light to last.

Ride until the light fades, cook close to the fire, sleep where the trail ends. Up early, back on the pedals, chasing the next stretch of dirt.

Cold nights. Red-lit canvas. Hands wrapped around tin mugs while the stove hums low. Morning breaks over wet pine and quiet water, oats on the boil, coffee dripping slow. Miles to cover, packs to shoulder, trails soft with moss and rain.

This is the season turning.
And this is how we meet it: layered up, steady and moving through the woods the long way around.

Recently a Finnish outdoor magazine made a story about the Arctic by Cycle route, featuring @mikkopeltola and @a4d3e. Andrei had a bunch of Half Rad bags on his bike. Sooo cool! 😎😎

We’re excited that our Lunar Orbiter was featured by @treelinereview in their roundup of the coolest new gear from PCT Days 2025. As our only freestanding tent, it’s designed for challenging conditions and, as you can see from the photos, is very bikepacker friendly. The Orbiter is an ultralight tent built to handle it all.
