Pear-shaped and bulbous at its center, the Veronese vase has inspired glassblowers since its recognition. Originally depicted by 16th-century painter Paulo Veronese in his work ‘Annunciation to the Virgin’, many have questioned whether the vase exists as a real object or as an imagined work.

Featuring an elongated neck and frosted surface, we are excited to showcase Matthew Abadi’s interpretation of this historic form.

Hitotoki opening reception tonight, 5:00-8:00 pm!

The rocks glass is our final collaborative piece with Sayuri Fukuda. Filled to the brim, it holds around 4.5 ounces, which is just the right size for sake, tea, or a small pour of something worth savoring. The clarity of the glass allows you to enjoy the color of the beverage it holds, while the gentle ripples of its surface add a subtle depth. Every curve and line holds the rhythm of the hand that made it.

Online and on view at our exhibition ‘Hitotoki’ through September 21.

Another look at the petite wine glass designed in collaboration with Sayuri Fukuda for ‘Hitotoki’.

Each one is different and features a subtle shift in form and feel. Available at ‘Hitotoki,’ opening September 11.

For ‘Hitotoki’, we asked Sayuri Fukuda for a small wine glass, something that is elegant but approachable enough to use in any setting. Beyond wine, it can house a wide range of beverages like whiskey and cognac. A beautiful all-rounder that has quickly become our go-to glass.

We’ve collaborated with Fukuda-san on many designs over the years, and every time she exceeds our expectations.

This wine glass, alongside three other exclusive designs, will be available at our opening reception September 11, 5:00-8:00 pm.

Our favorite detail—the bulbous stem sitting above a sturdy foot. It reminds us of morning dew drop in a constant state of suspension.

Available in a limited quantities in-store and online, September 11.

We’re excited to announce Hitotoki 時, our upcoming exhibition of handblown glassware by Sayuri Fukuda, opening September 11.

Meaning “a moment,” “a short time,” or “a while”, this exhibition explores the complex ideas surrounding purity and truth within glass design. Through her sensitivity to material, process, and form, Fukuda-san brings together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary practice, creating a collection of clear and white glass works of quiet beauty and enduring presence.

Exhibition Dates: September 11–21

Opening Reception: Friday, September 11, 5:00-8:00 pm (Sayuri Fukuda will be in attendance)

Tea for two, four, or even six, only a handful of these large stoneware teapots by Thylda Palmese are left in the shop. Each pot features a built in strainer, delicate pour, balanced handling, and a short spout that is easy to clean.

We were recently interviewed for the American Craft Council’s ‘Craft Around the Country’ series and wanted to thank their team for the in-depth feature! Honored to have our story told amongst an amazing selection of creative shops and artisans from around the country.

Read the article ‘In Downtown Portland, Oregon, A Craft Gallery is an Oasis of Calm’ for the full story on the ACC website (link in bio).

Special thanks to Megan Gannon, who we had the pleasure of being interviewed by, and to our dearest Alba of Absence Studio for capturing this space so perfectly.
