Welp, yes, I did call at 1am. 😂

Don’t judge me. That’s usually when my brain decides it needs answers. And Toyosi is always awake too, so… 🙂‍↔️

Our camping event was a success both times because we genuinely had one goal and worked towards it.

I’ve experienced idea theft multiple times in this industry, and honestly, it’s frustrating. So when I had an idea I wanted to introduce to our community, I wasn’t trying to take over what Toyosi does. I knew it was his area of expertise, so I chose to meet with him and figure out how we could execute it properly.

That, to me, is what collaboration looks like.

You don’t always have to compete. Sometimes, you bring your idea, I bring mine, we combine our strengths and everybody wins.

So, what part of this stood out to you?

The wonderful thing about building a community is how others take it from your hands and make it their own.

@mercyfamilusi might not recall this, but a conversation we had some years ago while working on a campaign together reinforced my approach. She said, “i see what is being done however i have no interest in mass market”. It resonated with me because I felt the same way.

Growing this type of community is a slower journey, but I have found it to be more fulfilling and rewarding.

If you’re just hearing about the ACT Experience Community for the first time, that’s great. You’re just in time for our annual @act_experience Owambe party, next week. Join us?
