Happy Sparkling Sports Sunday, all. My wife and I are on a quick weekend getaway in the Catskills—but I have my Terrible Towel and NFL Sunday Ticket, so I’ll be watching the game later.

And to drink we picked up this sparkling red non-cider from @leftbankciders in Catskill. It’s made from red hybrids (I have to investigate exactly what) and local honey and is very much in the Lambrusco lane, but different too.

Last evening was #NationalProseccoDay 🥂🇮🇹 and we clinked multiple sparkling glasses at an evening Apero featuring @valdoamericas at one of our fave midtown babe boîte spots @copinettenyc

And not only did attendees sample three cuvées by @valdoamericas + nosh on delish canapés — the occasion also raised awareness to one of our new @newyorkchampagneweek X @thefizzisfemale philanthropic partners @seventhdistrictfoundation , a members only organization that provides over $200,000 annually to benefit underprivileged children, support health and human services, and fund community-focused charitable works

In New York, Cab Means Franc.

The rising cohort of excellent New York #cabfranc was on display for the second year in a row here in NYC.

With advocates like Kevin Zraly, Allison Slute, and Keith Beaver attesting to the growing importance and quality of this varietal produced in our region, the momentum continues to build. American tastes are beginning to embrace medium body wines as the preferred companion to meals, and the NY food & wine scene is taking notice of the cool climate region in its back yard.

What a blast to be included in the @newyorkwines Leadership Summit with so many people committed to advocating for New York State wines.

@winedinewanda led us through morning talks and afternoon workshops where we brainstormed the future of this growing region. Yes, the industry has challenges in front of it—but with recognition for regions like our own Finger Lakes in @wineenthusiast there was a lot of optimism in the room.

Personally, I was psyched to finally meet WE’s local reviewer @christinakpickard who was good as her word at giving FLX chard another try. Nice to be standing next to Michael Penn of @rias_wines who also brought a Chardonnay sourced from old vines and neutral oak to the party. Based on her lovely story and kind words, I think we may be seeing more about #flxchard from her in the future.

Of course, this is an industry known for fun—or at least we know it is: apparently we need to share more of that vibe with the public. I was thrilled to hang out with @adrienneec at @kabawa where we were joined by the @_nykitchen team.

It was @theraclark who reminded us all that we should be loud and proud and having a blast promoting our wines.

Afterall, if we aren’t bringing joy to the people drinking our wine—what are we doing it all for?
