Decorex 2026 . . .

Popped in for a quick look around and say hello to a few friends at last week’s Decorex.

The absolute highlight for me was the central ‘bar’ area. Always located quite centrally in the pavilion, usually completely exposed, and with a traditional type of bar setup.

This year it was totally different. The powerhouse that is Alex Dauley of @alexandriadauley @aevencollective created the most beautiful space to meet, relax and network.

Not only did she enclose it, enveloping it in deep burgundy and a billowy, linen tented ceiling, Alex and Grant Pierrus, the co-founders of @aevencollective turned it into a collaborative concept, showcasing artists and makers, called ‘A Seat At The Table’.

To find out more visit @aevencollective and @alexandriadauley

The beautiful drapery was made and installed by the very talented @twhinteriors

And it was so welcoming, comfortable and easy on the eye I ended up staying here and chatting for ages 🫶

Congratulations my beautiful friends @alexandriadauley @twhinteriors @grantpierrus 💕

The bar area at Decorex 2026 caught my eye for its mix of chairs—and held my attention once I understood the thinking behind it.

Created by Alex Dauley and Grant Pierrus of AEVEN, ‘A Seat at the Table’ is exactly the kind of project I love: a strong concept that gives the whole scheme a purpose.

One detail I particularly appreciated was the open call, welcoming contributions from makers who weren’t exhibiting at the fair. Their work became part of a space where designers could sit, explore and discover someone they might otherwise never have encountered.

Giving that idea a physical form took its own collaboration: Williams & Yates collected 70 chairs and 14 artworks from across the UK, covering 1,800 miles.

For me, this captures an exciting direction in British interior design. Sharing knowledge, experience and ideas—and recognising the many people whose skills make a project possible.

So much to take away from somewhere you might have stopped for a coffee.

Well, what a week! Decorex 2026, that’s a wrap! 💛

From metres of fabric arriving at the atelier to seeing our finished drapery hanging at the heart of Decorex. What an experience!

It’s been such a privilege to be part of ‘A Seat at the Table’, the beautiful Main Bar installation brought together by @aevencollective. A celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and collaboration across our wonderful interiors industry.

A huge thank you to Alex and the AEVEN team for inviting me to be part of this incredible project and trusting me to help bring their vision to life.

And a special thank you to @warwickfabricsuk, who generously supplied the beautiful fabric that made it all possible. The texture, warmth and movement of the fabric worked so wonderfully within the finished space, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Beyond the installation itself, Decorex has been four days of inspiring conversations, reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones and celebrating the incredible talent within our industry.

For The White House Interiors, this has been a rather special milestone as we continue to grow our bespoke curtain and soft furnishings atelier, working alongside interior designers and design studios.

I’m heading back to the atelier feeling inspired, grateful and very excited about what comes next.

Here’s to making beautiful things together. 🥂

Had a wonderful time at @decorex_international, seeing A Seat At The Table by @aevencollective come to life. 🪑✨

It was wonderful to see the talent on display, with makers from across the UK bringing so many different materials, ideas and ways of making together in one space. I’m proud to have my work, Shah Mat, be part of it.

A big thank you to @aevencollective , @alexandriadauley and @grantpierrus for organising it and making it happen, and to @decorex_international and @williamsandyates for the experience. Thank you also to everyone I met along the way for the great conversations and new friendships.

Here’s a closer look at the finished chair we created for @aevencollective / @decorex_international – Seat at the Table, in collaboration with @gpjbaker .

We loved bringing the GP & J Baker George & Minnie fabric range to life on this piece, with the contrast back and skirt in Offset Forest and Canvas Oatmeal on the front seat.
Finished with the George & Minnie ribbon tape and a soft skirt detail around the bottom, it’s all in the little details that make this chair feel special.

Today is your last chance to come and experience A Seat At The Table, a celebration of design and craftsmanship.
