The Weather Station blends intimate contemporary folk with sophisticated art pop and jazz-infused indie rock. Fronted by Tamara Lindeman, the project has evolved from sparse acoustic fingerpicking into lush, rhythmic arrangements featuring woodwinds and synthesizers, all with a unique, intimate delivery.

My new tune, “Explode” is an explosive rock and roll trip through the intensity of being in love.

Have you listened yet?

Crank it while day dreaming.
Or on those long drives, deep in your thoughts.
Or take a moment and rest from life’s wild ride and take it all in.

Music heals…

All proceeds from LW50 will go towards MusiCounts, Canada's nationwide music education charity.

Faraday School in Winnipeg received an $18,000 MusiCounts Innovation Grant to expand its music program this year. Teacher Madly Friesen creates opportunities for students to express themselves, collaborate, and find a sense of belonging through music.

It’s amazing to finally be sharing pieces of this record with you. I’m very proud of it and know that you are all going to really dig it! So many people have been asking about this tune specifically and now it’s finally available.

I have more to share about this tune, but for now give it a listen!

Thanks so much,
Matty

I can’t believe the first headline tour has come to an end. America’s Greatest Burnout is an album that changed my perspective as it was created, and has changed my life every night I’ve gotten to play it live. it’s been truly mind blowing to play these songs across North America and hear you sing along. thank you for being there with me on this long ride. more coming, but what a gift to be present and cherish this moment now 🕊️

also, we donated over a thousand dollars in local charities through AGB bandana sales 🥹

As a Juno Award-winning songwriter, Justin Rutledge’s music style beautifully captures a "rugged yet refined" aesthetic, blending traditional roots music with elegant, spacious songcraft. He has won a Canadian Folk Music Award, has been long-listed twice for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize, and has penned songs with Booker Prize-winning author of ‘The English Patient,’ Michael Ondaatje. Looking forward to having you join us at LW50!

"This year has already had its share of important anniversaries, but for some music fans, none is more significant than the 50th anniversary of The Band’s star-studded farewell concert, The Last Waltz, which took place Nov. 25, 1976 at Winterland Arena in San Francisco, and immortalized on film by Martin Scorsese."
