I finally made a visit to the first nikkei hand roll bar in Chicago, @akiro.us, the fusion between Japanese technique and Peruvian flavors 🍣

I love how there’s only bar seating, so you can watch each bite being prepared right in front of you. The fish arrives fresh daily and we were blown away with how flavorful everything was ❤️‍🔥

I highly recommend the tuna tiradito and katshu sando for starters, the short rib handroll was incredible, and for nigiri: salmon truffle, toro caviar, and unagi which had shaved dark chocolate!! So so good. And for dessert, I loved the tres leches with matcha. Definitely make a visit soon! 🥢

@akiro.us Definitely one of my favorite Chicago restaurants so far!! We tried the acevichado handroll, hamachi ceviche, tuna tiradito, squid nigiri, shrimp tempura, toro handroll, and the matcha tres leches. Genuinely everything was delicious- fish was SUPER fresh. The interior was incredible too- I felt like I was on vacation.

A first of its kind: Peruvian / Japanese fusion. Concept came straight from Spain, now finally opened up its doors for the first time here in the US (Chicago). 🇪🇸 —-> 🇺🇸

Quite a delightful experience, thank you for having us @akiro.us . Will definitely be coming back for more. 🤍

P.S. Absolute MUST try’s are anything Toro, Salmon AND Scallop (Wagyu was also great).😋
